Jeep has launched the Commander in the region—a new three-row SUV aimed at families who still want real off-road kit. It arrives in two trims (Limited+ and Overland) with a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine rated at 272 hp and 400 Nm, a 9-speed auto, and a full suite of driver assists. Launch event took place in Dubai on 14 October 2025.
What is it?
A seven-seat D-segment SUV that slots into Jeep’s line-up as the brand’s most refined three-row model for this region. The brief is simple: space, comfort and proper 4×4.
- Enters the regional D-SUV class with seven seats
- Two trims: Limited+ and Overland
- Built around practicality and tech with Jeep capability baked in
The Commander is a strategic move for Jeep in the Middle East. It targets families and road-trip types who don’t want to trade away off-road features for a third row.
Cabin and seating: made for real families
Jeep fitted three rows with eight possible seat layouts, and the second row slides by up to 14 cm. Doors open to 80 degrees to make kid-wrangling easier. Extra cubbies add 31 litres of storage. You can even fit three child seats across the second row and still use the third.
- 3 rows, 8 configurations
- 14 cm sliding second row; recline for rows 2 and 3
- 80° door opening; 31 L added storage; three child seats in row two
This is the practical stuff that matters day-to-day. Sliding seats balance legroom and boot space, and the wide doors cut the faff when loading child seats.

Screens, audio and comfort tech
A 10.25-inch digital cluster pairs with a 10.1-inch touchscreen. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, plus wireless charging and USB ports across all rows. Overland adds a panoramic roof and hands-free tailgate; both trims have an electric tailgate. Dual-zone climate with rear vents is standard.
- 10.25″ cluster + 10.1″ infotainment
- Wireless CarPlay/Android Auto; wireless charging; USB in all rows
- Electric tailgate (hands-free on Overland); panoramic sunroof (Overland)
- Dual-zone AC with rear blowers across three rows
Audio gets a proper upgrade: a nine-speaker Harman Kardon setup with a 450-watt sub. Jeep’s “Fresh Air” tech uses the cabin ducts as an acoustic box, cutting weight by 40% and volume by 70% while boosting bass.
Safety and ADAS
Seven airbags are standard, including a driver knee bag. ADAS coverage includes adaptive cruise control, AEB with pedestrian/cyclist/motorcycle detection, blind-spot and cross-traffic monitors, lane-change alert, driver-fatigue detection, speed-limit recognition, auto headlight control and park assist.
- 7 airbags (front, side, curtain, driver’s knee)
- Adaptive cruise + AEB; lane/spot/traffic helpers
- Driver-fatigue and speed-limit recognition; auto lights; park assist
This is the spec you want in a family SUV here. Long highways, night drives, and busy car parks make these systems more than brochure filler.
Off-road kit and platform
It’s still a Jeep. You get 4×4 Low and 4×4 Lock, Selec-Terrain, Hill Descent Control and “Off-Road Pages” to show pitch, roll and traction data live. The platform uses 79% high- and ultra-strength steel for rigidity, helping ride comfort and safety. NVH is kept low.
- 4×4 Low / 4×4 Lock
- Selec-Terrain and Hill Descent Control
- Off-Road Pages readouts in the cabin
- 79% high/ultra-strength steel structure; low NVH focus
If your weekends run from Jebel Jais to beach camping, this is the difference between “SUV-shaped” and “actually capable”.
