The Grenadier’s new UAE flex is pure portal-axle chaos

AGMC and INEOS Automotive have launched the INEOS Grenadier Trialmaster X LETECH in the UAE — a Grenadier that’s been sent to Germany, had portal axles bolted on, and came back taller, wider, and more serious about dunes and rocks. The official debut happened at a boutique pop-up at Dubai Design District (D3), with a showcase planned at Liwa Festival at Tal Moreeb. 

If you’ve been shopping the UAE’s “serious 4x4” space, this is INEOS trying to stand out with hardware, not stickers.

AGMC is now INEOS Automotive’s UAE distributor

AGMC is taking on official distributor duties for INEOS Automotive in the UAE, starting with this high-spec launch model. 

• AGMC becomes the official distributor in the UAE
• Launch activity starts at D3 via an INEOS boutique pop-up gallery
• The model is also headed to Liwa Festival at Tal Moreeb 

AGMC already has a long history in the UAE auto scene, so this is less “new kid” and more “new badge on an existing machine”.

What “portal axles” change in real life

The headline feature is the portal axle conversion, developed with German off-road specialists LETECH GmbH. 

• Ground clearance: +186mm, up to 450mm
• Wading depth: +250mm, up to 1,050mm
• Wider track and improved off-road geometry
• More wheel travel and axle articulation for deep sand and rocky terrain 

Portal axles basically move the axle centreline up and out of harm’s way by offsetting the wheel hubs from the main axle. In normal-person terms: your underbody has more space to clear sand ridges, rocks, and whatever your mates swear “isn’t that bad”.

Hardware list: suspension, tyres, wheels, and accessories

This isn’t a light mod. The kit includes major suspension work, plus proper off-road wheel and tyre choices. 

• Heavy-duty five-link front and rear suspension
• Portal axles and offset wheel hubs
• 37-inch BFGoodrich KM3 Mud Terrain tyres
• Hutchinson beadlock forged alloy wheels
• Drivetrain remains unchanged 

There’s also a bundle of LETECH-developed add-ons included, like a front winch, roof rack ladder, running boards, a fuel can holder ladder (station wagon only), and six roof spotlights.

Engine, body styles, and cabin spec

You can order the Trialmaster X LETECH as either a Station Wagon or the Quartermaster pick-up. 

• Engine: 3.0-litre turbo inline-six BMW B58 petrol
• Output: 282 hp (286 PS) @ 4,750 rpm
• Torque: 450 Nm from 1,750–4,000 rpm 

On top of the regular Trialmaster spec, LETECH versions get a more premium interior setup, including heated front seats, Safari Windows, premium sound, carpet mats, privacy glass, and bespoke badging.
