Higround is teaming up with SEGA again, this time with a bigger Sonci the Hedgehog and Dreamcast-themed collection aimed at both collectors and ranked-grinders. The new drop adds more layouts, better sound-dampening and a Hall Effect gaming board, while still leaning hard into that late-'90s SEGA optimism.
- Higround and SEGA are doing a second Sonic/Dreamcast collab, focused on premium keyboards
- New layouts include 75% and 96%, plus a Hall Effect Basecamp 65HE for competitive gamers
- Prices range from $49.95 to $299.95 (roughly AED 185-1,100)

What’s actually in the new SEGA x Higround collection?
This new capsule is built around five keyboards, matching keycaps and XL mousepads, each themed after a piece of SEGA history.
- Summit 65+ (Dreamcast design) – premium CNC aluminium with stainless steel back plate
- Basecamp 65HE (Radical Highway) – Hall Effect switches for competitive play
- Basecamp 96+ (Classic Sonic) – almost full-size layout in a tighter footprint
- Basecamp 75+ (Escape from the City & Sonic CD) – two variants of compact TKL
- Sonic CD keycap set and four XL Control mousepads to match
In simple terms: Summit is the flex piece, Basecamp 65HE is for performance, 96+ is for power users, and 75+ is the “I want a clean desk but full keys” option. The matching mats and caps let you theme the full setup instead of just the keyboard.

Dreamcast Summit 65+: the collector flex piece
This is the one for people who still have their Dreamcast boxed in a cupboard and are weirdly proud of it.
- CNC aluminium case with a mirror-like stainless steel back plate
- Dreamcast-inspired colourway and branding
- New “Dampening Plus” five-layer system for a quieter, more solid sound
- Aimed at collectors and anyone who cares how their keyboard sounds as much as how it looks
The Summit 65+ Dreamcast board comes in at $299.95 (around AED 1,100 before VAT), so it’s firmly in “luxury toy” territory. But you’re paying for the metal chassis, the finish and the fact that this is the most display-worthy board in the lineup, not just something you slam in a work cubicle.

Basecamp 65HE: Sonic speed meets Hall Effect switches
If you actually play ranked shooters and not just indie platformers, this is the interesting one.
- 65% layout with arrow keys
- Hall Effect (HE) magnetic switches for “dynamic actuation”
- Design inspired by Sonic’s Radical Highway stage
- Tuned for precision and fast key reset, aimed at competitive gamers
Hall Effect switches use magnets instead of traditional metal contacts. That means the keyboard can detect how far you’ve pressed a key and let you choose the exact point where it registers. You can set a very shallow actuation for movement keys to react faster, or deeper for things you don’t want to fat-finger. Higround’s other 65HE boards already use this tech with dynamic actuation and “rapid trigger” for repeat presses.
For anyone playing Valorant, CS or even Sonic Rumble on PC (yes, that’s a thing now), this is easily the most “esports” board in the collab.

Basecamp 96+ and 75+: Sonic layouts for real desks
Not everyone wants a tiny 60% board. Higround is finally giving Sonic fans more practical sizes.
- Basecamp 96+ (Classic Sonic design)
- 96% layout: almost full-size, but tighter and cleaner
- Uses Dampening Plus and TTC Neptune switches
- Aimed at people who need numpad + arrows + function keys
- Basecamp 75+ (Escape from the City & Sonic CD designs)
- Compact 75% layout with function row and arrows
- Also uses Dampening Plus and TTC Neptune switches
- Two art styles: one leaning into “Escape from the City”, one Sonic CD
In normal terms: the 96+ is for spreadsheets, MMOs and people doing work and gaming on the same PC. The 75+ is better for smaller setups or anyone who wants room for a giant mousepad without losing key rows. Both get the same new sound-dampening stack and switches for a deeper, cleaner typing sound.
Price-wise, you’re looking at:
- Basecamp 96+: $189.95 (~AED 700)
- Basecamp 75+: $169.95 (~AED 625)
All before shipping, customs and VAT once it hits the UAE.

Keycaps and mousepads: finishing the Sonic desk
No themed setup is complete until you cover half your desk in a giant mat.
- Sonic CD-themed Basecamp 75+ keycap set – $69.95 (~AED 260)
- Four XL Control mousepads – $49.95 (~AED 185) each
- XL size means enough room for low-sensitivity aim
- Designs match the keyboards so you can keep one visual theme
If you already own a Basecamp board from another Higround drop, the Sonic CD keycaps are an easier buy than a whole new keyboard. And if you just want Sonic art under your mouse while you grind ranked, the Control pads are the cheapest way into the collab.
