Google has brought Lyria 3.5 to the Gemini app, giving users a way to generate music from the same place they already ask questions and make images. The rollout also covers the Gemini API, Google AI Studio and Google Vids, with access described as global by Google’s announcement.

The Gemini app now lets users select or describe a genre, choose vocal or instrumental output, and pick between short and longer tracks. Google has also added templates for jobs such as background music and birthday songs. The company says the model produces more expressive vocals and richer musical arrangements.
Google first introduced Lyria 3.5 in Flow Music in July, describing improvements to musicality, lyrics, prompt adherence, structure, pronunciation and vocal expression. The model page says it can now generate tracks of up to three minutes, although the Gemini announcement does not specify the length of each available track.

The Gemini API brings Lyria 3.5 to developers, while Google says artists and AI creatives can use it through Flow Music. The model is also available in Google AI Studio and Google Vids. Android Authority’s report notes that the Gemini rollout moves the model beyond its earlier Flow Music-only availability.

The feature is aimed at quick creative jobs rather than replacing a recording studio: a backing track for a video, a brand jingle or a ringtone. The prompt box remains the main instrument, which should save a few musicians from having to learn another interface.
