Google has updated Google Flow with Gemini Omni 1.1, adding 4K output, scene extension that stretches clips to 40 seconds, and first- and last-frame controls. The new model rolls out globally to Google AI Plus, Pro and Ultra subscribers.
Google Flow began as a filmmaking playground built around Veo, Google’s video model, and has grown into a wider creative studio that mixes text, images, audio and video in one workspace. The same model family landed in YouTube Shorts across MENA earlier this year, and the Gemini line has been refreshed steadily all summer.
What Gemini Omni 1.1 adds to Google Flow
The main change is scene extension. Earlier versions of Omni drew on roughly the final second of a clip when continuing it; Omni 1.1 can analyse up to 10 seconds of existing footage. Extensions are generated in 10-second increments, up to 40 seconds in total. Ten seconds of context, forty seconds of scene.
Creators can also set the first and last frames of a shot and let the model fill in the footage between them, which is how camera moves, transitions and loops get controlled. A separate video reference of up to three seconds can be supplied to keep visual context and character consistency.
Cheaper drafts, pricier finishes
Google has also made experimentation cheaper. Drafts at 360p generate up to 60% faster and cost one-third as much as standard 720p output, so ideas can be tested before committing to a full render. Finished clips can be produced at 1080p or upscaled to 4K.
Per-second rates run from $0.03 at 360p to $0.10 at 720p, $0.15 at 1080p and $0.30 at 4K: a draft costs a third of the standard render, and the 4K finish costs six times the draft. Google has published the full comparison in its Gemini Omni 1.1 announcement.
Who gets Google Flow’s Gemini Omni 1.1
The update is live in Flow for Google AI Plus, Pro and Ultra subscribers, with scene extension also arriving in the Gemini app. Developers get the same controls through Google AI Studio and the Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform. Android Authority reported the rollout in detail.
