Ghost of Yotei Legends Release Date: March 10

Ghost of Yotei Legends will launch on March 10, 2025, Sucker Punch announced. The new co-op multiplayer mode arrives as a free update for anyone who owns the original Ghost of Yotei, launching alongside the game's version 1.5 update.

Four classes with unique weapons and abilities

"Legends is our online co-op multiplayer mode where you'll team up with friends to challenge monstrous, supernatural versions of the Yōtei Six," explained Andrew Goldfarb, Sucker Punch's communications manager.

Players can choose from four distinct classes, each with specialised weapons and combat styles. The Samurai wields the ōdachi and has access to the widest range of weapon types, whilst the Archer uses the yari (spear) and can carry an additional ranged weapon. The Mercenary focuses on dual katana with utility-focused abilities, and the Shinobi employs the kusarigama alongside stealth-focused skills.

All classes can use basic katana and ranged weapons, but each excels in different combat systems and can earn unique armour cosmetics through gameplay achievements. This follows recent leadership changes at the studio.

Three mission types at launch and beyond

Ghost of Yotei Legends launches with three distinct mission types. Survival mode pits players against waves of increasingly difficult enemies across various maps, emphasising teamwork and endurance.

The Story mode features a series of 12 missions, with Incursions unlocking after every three completed missions. These Incursions are described as "large-scale four-player assaults" on strongholds belonging to members of the Yōtei Six.

A Raid mission will arrive in April, where players will "take on the Dragon and Lord Saito himself," according to Sucker Punch. This suggests the most challenging content will arrive post-launch.
