The Gemini Spark Google Photos update lets eligible users manage, curate and share their photo libraries with multi-stage prompts. Google says the feature is rolling out gradually, but its current help page limits access to people aged 18 and over in the US, in English, through the Gemini mobile app or web app.
Gemini Spark Google Photos workflows can run in the background
Google’s Gemini Spark Google Photos support page says the agent can search for photos and videos by subject, location, date or event, then pick the best shots and filter duplicates. It can also create private or shared albums, organise images and share album links through connected apps such as Gmail, Google Docs and Messages.
The workflow can include edits. Spark can apply quick fixes, enhance images, create collages and stylised images, or build visual stories. Google Photos keeps the original untouched and saves an edited copy instead. New albums are private by default, and Spark asks for permission before sharing them or sending emails.
Recurring photo tasks are part of the update
Spark can schedule recurring jobs, such as creating a monthly highlights album or sorting photos of receipts. It can also extract text from an image and use that information in another task. Google’s example combines a concert photo with calendar availability to find a night the user can attend.
The feature is available through a prompt in Gemini Spark. Users connect Google Photos, describe the workflow and submit it; Spark can then handle the sequence rather than waiting for each instruction separately.

That does not make the Google Photos integration available everywhere: Google’s support page currently says the feature is limited to eligible users in the US and English.
