What actually leaked

The database entries, first spotted by RPGSite, cover a fairly complete-looking edition structure for the PC release. Alongside the base game there are listings for a Premium Edition, a Premium Plus Edition, a Pre-Purchase Bonus, a Digital Contents Pack, the aforementioned Story Expansion Pass, and multiple numbered DLC items.

Before anyone starts budgeting for a season pass, a few caveats. These are backend listings, not live store pages, and several of them look like placeholders that could cover anything from costumes to minor pre-order incentives. Curiously, there is a ‘DLC1’ entry but no ‘DLC2’, which rather gives away that this is unfinished, work-in-progress data that was never meant for public eyes. Nintendo Wire and others covering the leak have been careful to frame all of it as unofficial, data-mined information that can change before release.

The Story Expansion Pass is the awkward part

What makes this leak genuinely newsworthy rather than routine store-page housekeeping is that explicit Story Expansion Pass label, which IGN Middle East also flagged as the standout entry. Director Naoki Hamaguchi has previously said there were no current plans for story DLC for Revelation, though he left the door open depending on how things developed and what fans wanted.

A named Story Expansion Pass sitting in Epic’s database does not square neatly with that position. It could mean plans have firmed up since Hamaguchi’s comments, or it could simply be Square Enix reserving infrastructure for something exploratory that may never ship. Publishers set up placeholder store entities all the time, and until Square Enix says something official, that is the sensible way to read this.

Nothing to do about it yet

Revelation is confirmed to launch on all platforms simultaneously in Spring 2027, and the Epic Games Store page is currently wishlist-only, so none of this leaked content can be bought or preordered anywhere. For now, the leak is a signal about Square Enix’s post-launch thinking rather than anything actionable.

It also lands amid a busy stretch of Revelation chatter from Hamaguchi himself, who recently said he has finished the game 40 times and cried every time, and that once the trilogy wraps, his next project will be a new grand-scale RPG rather than another remake. If a story expansion really is coming, it would be a tidy way to extend the trilogy’s ending without committing the team to yet another multi-year remake project.
