Etisalat UAE has introduced two 2Gbps home fibre plans, starting at AED 699 a month excluding VAT, alongside a 50th-anniversary offer that rewards long-standing mobile customers with up to 10GB of free data for each year they have been with the operator. The home plans, Neo 2G and Neo Fusion 2G, both include a Wi-Fi 7 router.

In its announcement distributed through Zawya, Etisalat lists the plans’ download speed at 2Gbps and upload speed at 500Mbps. The free-data reward is a separate anniversary benefit, not an extra allowance bundled with those fibre packages.

The launch follows Etisalat’s return to its familiar UAE name. For households considering an upgrade, the useful comparison is the monthly bill and bundled services, rather than the anniversary branding.

Neo 2G versus Neo Fusion 2G

Neo 2G costs AED 699 a month excluding VAT. Neo Fusion 2G costs AED 899 a month excluding VAT. With 5% VAT, those advertised monthly rates work out to AED 733.95 and AED 943.95 respectively, before any other charges.

Both packages use Etisalat’s XGS-PON fibre network and include entertainment benefits such as Amazon Prime, TV by etisalat, and Video On Demand Box Office. The announcement positions them for households with several people streaming, gaming, working, or studying online at once.

The more expensive Fusion package adds STARZPLAY Max, premium OSN channels, a 4K TV box, home phone calling benefits, and Full Home Wi-Fi coverage using Wi-Fi 7 access points. Its advertised premium is AED 200 a month before VAT, so the decision rests on those extras: the stated fibre speeds are the same.

These are fixed home broadband plans, distinct from Etisalat’s U6GHz mobile network announcement. A mobile network’s peak speed is not a specification for a home fibre subscription.

What the anniversary data offer actually says

The release describes a reward of up to 10GB for every year a customer has been with Etisalat. It does not establish that every subscriber receives the maximum, or that the reward renews annually. The wording ties the amount to customer tenure, rather than promising an ongoing yearly allowance.

Etisalat directs customers to its app to check eligibility. Neither the release nor the accessible anniversary page spells out a minimum tenure, the reward’s expiry, or which mobile plans qualify, so customers should check their individual offer before counting on the data.

The official anniversary page also lists up to five times more data on local add-ons, up to three times more on roaming add-ons, and discounts of up to 90% on selected devices and accessories. The roaming figure differs from the release’s broader five-times wording; the customer-facing page gives the more specific split. These are selected offers, not blanket discounts across the catalogue.

Before signing up

Will every device get a 2Gbps connection over Wi-Fi?

The plan’s fibre speed does not guarantee that speed on each device. A device’s Wi-Fi capabilities, its distance from the router, and shared household usage affect the connection it receives. The included Wi-Fi 7 router alone does not make older devices Wi-Fi 7-compatible.

What should customers confirm before ordering?

Check service availability at the property, the contract length, installation or activation charges, cancellation terms, and any limits on bundled entertainment subscriptions. The announcement does not detail those conditions, so the quoted monthly rate should not be treated as a complete first-bill estimate.
