According to Variety, Disney aims to broaden the audience for the licensed titles and boost their visibility, while expecting millions in incremental licensing revenue. The report puts Netflix’s subscriber base at over 325 million. It also describes Disney-branded titles as remaining largely exclusive to Disney’s own platforms and television channels.

Films and shows already on Disney+ and Hulu, including the Ice Age films and Percy Jackson and the Olympians, will remain available on their original platforms alongside their inclusion in the Netflix deal.

Percy Jackson and Ice Age lead the release calendar

Seasons one and two of Percy Jackson and the Olympians are scheduled to reach Netflix globally on 4 October 2026 for a three-month promotional window. That rollout starts ahead of Percy Jackson season three’s planned Disney+ premiere on 20 November, making the earlier seasons part of the promotional push for the next instalment.

Five Ice Age films are also set to arrive worldwide on 4 October, kicking off a three-month promotional window ahead of Ice Age: Boiling Point. The sixth film in the franchise is scheduled for theatrical release on 5 February 2027.

TV launch dates and rights vary by region

Felicity is scheduled to join Netflix in the United States on 7 October, with international launches to follow later. Revenge and Army Wives are included in the global library licensing, while Fresh Off the Boat is covered in the United States and select regions.

This Is Us is included internationally outside the United States. The series previously had a US Netflix licensing period in 2024–2025.

Shifting Gears seasons one and two have a staggered schedule: a US Netflix launch on 1 December 2026, followed by international releases in January 2027. Those additions are planned ahead of the third season’s ABC premiere in early 2027.

Tracker seasons one, two and three are scheduled to reach Netflix internationally outside the United States on 26 February 2027 under a multiyear licence. Separately, season four is scheduled to premiere on CBS on 4 October 2026. The announced Netflix package covers the earlier three seasons.

More Disney and Pixar films planned for 2027

Selected Disney and Pixar films, including Elio, Raya and the Last Dragon and Soul, are scheduled to join Netflix globally during 2027. Title availability and launch dates will vary by region, so the global licensing scope does not give every market the same release calendar.

The additions expand Netflix’s existing selection of licensed Disney-owned television. Titles already in that offering include Arrested Development, Black-ish, Grey’s Anatomy and Scandal. Our guide to what’s new on Netflix in the UAE this October covers the wider monthly line-up.

Are the October Percy Jackson and Ice Age additions permanent?

No. The announced Netflix licences for Percy Jackson and the Olympians seasons one and two and the five Ice Age films are three-month promotional windows, rather than permanent additions.

Will these films and shows leave Disney+ and Hulu?

No. Titles already available on Disney+ and Hulu, including Percy Jackson and the Ice Age films, will remain on those services alongside their Netflix run.

Do the announced Netflix dates apply to every country?

No. Percy Jackson and the five Ice Age films are scheduled for a global launch on 4 October, but Felicity and Shifting Gears have staggered US and international releases. Tracker’s Netflix deal excludes the US, and the 2027 Disney and Pixar film dates vary by region.
