Dell Technologies has announced the Dell 14S at IFA 2026 in Berlin, a colourful aluminium 14-inch Windows laptop aimed at students and young adults. It sits below the XPS 13. Dell has not published a price.

Dell’s IFA blog lists four finishes: Linen, Dusty Rose, Washed Denim and Velvet Green. The chassis is 13.5mm thin and starts at 1.15kg.

The Verge reported a virtual briefing in which Dell placed the new 14S near the XPS 13’s $700 starting price, “slightly more accessible”, with Intel Core 5 320 or Core 7 350 chips, HDMI 1.4 and a 3.5mm jack.

Dell 14S colours, chips and screens

The four colours are Dell’s names, not nicknames: Linen (beige), Dusty Rose (pink), Washed Denim and Velvet Green. Dell presents that palette as a MacBook Neo alternative for students who want a Windows machine that does not look like a corporate loaner. tbreak has already covered the MacBook Neo’s UAE pricing.

Chips are Intel Core 5 320 or Core 7 350, Series 3 parts The Verge identifies as Wildcat Lake. Dell’s footnotes name the Core 5 320. There is no Panther Lake option. Memory and storage start at 8GB and 256GB, and can be configured to 16GB with a 512GB or 1TB SSD.

Dell lists two 16:10 panels: a 2.8K 120Hz option and a 2K 60Hz option. The Verge specifies a 2880 x 1800 120Hz panel at 450 nits, or a 1920 x 1200 60Hz LCD at 300 nits. Neither is a touchscreen.

Dell claims up to 21 hours of Netflix streaming on a Core 5 320 configuration with the FHD panel, 8GB of memory and a 256GB SSD, from lab tests in August 2026. Every configuration includes an FHD camera, far-field dual-array microphones, stereo speakers, Wi-Fi 6E and Windows Hello.

Dell 14S ports, price and availability

Ports are more complete than the current XPS 13: two USB-C connections with power delivery (The Verge: USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 with DisplayPort), HDMI 1.4 and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Dell has not published a price. Its IFA statement says pricing will be disclosed closer to availability in each market, and that the 14S is “complementary to XPS 13” and meant to be accessible for students globally. Availability is the United States this autumn.

This is not a refresh of the earlier 14S. Dell’s own FAQ says the model launched earlier in 2026 is aimed at creator and early-professional buyers with higher-end displays; the IFA 14S is the everyday, colourful, cheaper-to-position sibling. tbreak covered that first wave as Dell’s 14S and 16S Copilot+ laptops, and the XPS 14 and XPS 16 when Dell revived the XPS name.

Dell has not confirmed a UAE price or an on-sale date. Global pricing is due closer to the US autumn launch.
