Netflix has set 1 October 2026 as the premiere date for Crazy Rich Incredibly Broke, a new Saudi comedy about a Riyadh family trying to preserve its reputation for wealth. The film will stream exclusively on Netflix, according to the release.

Crazy Rich Incredibly Broke Netflix cast in a lavish Riyadh family setting

Crazy Rich Incredibly Broke follows the AlThahabi family

The story centres on the AlThahabis, a family whose name has opened doors across Riyadh for decades — at least according to the family. Their money, status and public image are tested as they work to keep appearances intact.

Sultan, played by Rashed Al Shamrani, is the family patriarch and chairman. His wife Alanoud, played by Ghada AlMulla, is a socialite who treats a cheque as a useful way to end a conversation. Their children include Reem, the planner played by Ida AlKusay; Bandar, a self-described world-renowned actor played by Ziyad Alamri; and Lulu, the youngest, played by Adwa Bader.

The film is written by Ayman Wattar and directed by Ahmed El Gendy, with production from Edition, according to Trendreel’s report. Its comedy comes from the gap between the family’s polished image and the decisions needed to maintain it.

The Arabic title, AlMahaitiya, refers to conspicuous showing-off. Netflix’s English release describes the family as being highly skilled at looking rich and even better at pretending. The first-look material includes the family’s cast portraits and a teaser, while the film’s setting keeps the story tied to contemporary Riyadh rather than an unnamed luxury suburb.

When does Crazy Rich Incredibly Broke premiere?

Crazy Rich Incredibly Broke premieres on Netflix on 1 October 2026. Netflix has announced an exclusive streaming release and has not listed a cinema run in the supplied release.

The film joins Netflix’s growing catalogue of Saudi productions and Arabic-language stories. Readers tracking the service in the UAE can also see our guides to Lovesick’s Netflix release date and The Gentlemen Season 2. Netflix has not announced a running time or detailed episode structure, and the release presents it as a film rather than a series.

The family has a name to protect, money to display and several reasons not to look too closely at either. That should keep the AlThahabis occupied until October.
