CoD: Mobile is starting 2026 with a massive Street Fighter crossover and new mythics

The first season of 2026 is almost here, and it looks like a solid start for mobile shooters. According to the official Call of Duty: Mobile announcement, Call of Duty Mobile Season 1 Frozen Abyss launches on 15 January in the UAE, bringing a new Mythic Operator and continuing the popular Street Fighter collaboration.

While we saw plenty of crossovers last year, including the recent PUBG Mobile Peaky Blinders collaboration, Activision is doubling down on fighting game partnerships to keep the momentum going. Here is what you need to know about the update, from the new weapons to the specific launch timing for Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

Call of Duty Mobile Season 1 Frozen Abyss Battle Pass Content

The core of the update is the new Battle Pass for Call of Duty Mobile Season 1 Frozen Abyss, which sticks to the standard free and premium tiers. If you are playing for free, the highlight is the new LC10 - Tracker SMG in Call of Duty Mobile Season 1 Frozen Abyss. It is described as a fast-firing weapon with low recoil, which usually means it will be a reliable pick for close-to-mid-range maps like Nuketown or Shipment.

The free tier also includes the Inflatable Decoy Tactical. This is a throwable item that deploys a balloon decoy to distract enemies — a mechanic that can be incredibly annoying to deal with in ranked play if used correctly.

For those buying the Premium Pass, you get the winter-themed cosmetics. This includes the "American Bulldog - Polar Explorer" and "Portnova - Arctic Adventurer" operator skins, plus the "Man-O-War - Tidal Lance" weapon blueprint. If you are playing on a device with a great screen, like the recently announced HONOR X8d, these particle-heavy skins should look excellent.

New Mythic Operator and events

The big ticket item for the "whales" (big spenders) this season is the new Mythic Operator, Codename: Lazarus – Cosmic Wrath, the new Mythic Operator for Call of Duty Mobile Season 1 Frozen Abyss. This will be available through a new Mythic Draw at launch. As usual with Mythic drops, expect to spend a significant amount of COD Points if you want to guarantee the unlock.

On the events side, the Street Fighter collaboration isn't over yet. It continues into Season 1 with new challenges and rewards, so if you missed out on the initial items, you have more time to grab them.

Activision confirmed a global launch of Call of Duty Mobile Season 1 Frozen Abyss for 14 January at 4pm PT. For gamers in the UAE, that converts to an early morning release.
