A Blood of Dawnwalker sequel may not bring back the game’s controversial time mechanic, according to game director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz. Rebel Wolves will keep the system only if it fits the story being told, rather than treating it as a fixed rule for every game.
Tomaszkiewicz told Eurogamer that the studio has not decided whether the mechanic belongs in future entries. “If we will have parts of the story, or the whole story, to which it fits, then we will use it. If we will have stories where it does not fit, we will not force it,” he said.

Blood of Dawnwalker sequel may drop the timer
The current game gives players 30 days and 30 nights to rescue Coen’s family from the vampire Brencis. Time advances when quests are completed or moved forward, and when players spend points on some skills. It does not constantly drain during ordinary exploration or fights with wildlife.
The system has divided players who want to see everything in one playthrough. A popular pre-launch mod removed it, while Tomaszkiewicz said the game was balanced so players could complete around 80 per cent of its content within the limit. GamingBolt also reports that the director expects players’ views to shift as more of them finish the game.
Rebel Wolves is testing other RPG ideas
Tomaszkiewicz said the studio is researching “other crazy ideas” that could make future RPGs feel different. That does not confirm a sequel, and Rebel Wolves has not announced a follow-up with a release date or platform details.
For now, the time system remains specific to the first game. Players who want more technical detail can read our coverage of The Blood of Dawnwalker’s 60fps day-one patch and its 30fps and 40fps console modes.
Will a Blood of Dawnwalker sequel have the same time mechanic?
Not necessarily. Director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz said Rebel Wolves will use the mechanic only when it suits a future story.
