Avengers: Endgame Encore runs 185 minutes, according to the runtime AMC Theatres has listed for the September 25 re-release — four minutes longer than the original cut, and a fair way short of the seven that earlier reports promised.

Marvel announced the re-release in April, promising footage “critical” to the plot of Avengers: Doomsday and setting the September 2026 return. The IGN report, based on the AMC listing, notes the four minutes were likely shot during the production of Avengers: Doomsday and slotted into the 2019 film. That makes Encore the movie you remember with a couple of clips from the sequel grafted in, rather than the substantial reworking some fans had hoped for.
Avengers: Endgame Encore runtime and new footage
The figure settles a rumour that ran through July, when ComicBookMovie reported the re-release could run seven minutes longer. GamesRadar confirms the runtime lands at four. What the new material contains has not been confirmed, though Joe Russo described the project in April as a bridge rather than a bonus reel.
“It’s critically important to re-release the movie, and, in fact, we’ll be re-releasing the film with footage that is set in the Doomsday story that we have added to Avengers: Endgame.”
Joe Russo, co-director of Avengers: Endgame
Russo called the re-release “an opportunity to create a bridge from Endgame to Doomsday in a very unique way”, and the sequel arrives on December 18. There is also the small matter of the box office: Endgame’s lifetime total of $2.79 billion sits about $127 million short of Avatar’s all-time record, per IGN.
Encore also marks the debut of Infinity Vision, Disney’s new premium large-format certification, and the special end tag is exclusive to Infinity Vision and IMAX screenings.
UAE cinemas have not listed Encore sessions yet — VOX, Novo and Reel typically post Marvel bookings closer to release, and the re-release arrives less than three months before Avengers: Doomsday opens on December 18.
Why is the re-release called Encore?
Marvel first used the Encore name for the 2019 Endgame re-release — the one with the Stan Lee tribute and a deleted Hulk scene that helped the film pass Avatar. This year’s version is a different project: about four minutes of footage shot during Avengers: Doomsday production, slotted into the film as a bridge to the sequel.
What are the Infinity Vision and IMAX screenings of Endgame Encore?
Infinity Vision is Disney’s new premium large-format certification — screens at least 45 feet wide with laser projection and immersive audio. Encore is the first film released under the programme, and Infinity Vision and IMAX screenings get a special end tag expected to lead into Avengers: Doomsday.
Will Avengers: Endgame Encore screen in UAE cinemas?
Not listed yet. VOX, Novo and Reel had no Encore sessions at the time of writing; Marvel bookings typically appear on the chains’ sites closer to release. The re-release arrives September 25, less than three months before Avengers: Doomsday on December 18.
