Aqara Showcases Next-Gen Smart Homes Powered by Spatial Intelligence at IFA 2,025
TL;DR
  • New hardware: G400 wired doorbell, W600 radiator thermostat, H2 power gear and Hub M200.
  • Prototypes: G510 battery camera and Home Station M410 security hub.
  • App/cloud: Soft Sensor, WHEN-IF-THEN automations, LAN control and cloud AI with flame detection, summaries and richer notifications.

Aqara used IFA 2025 to show what it calls “spatial intelligence” for the smart home. The lineup includes a wired Doorbell Camera G400, a Radiator Thermostat W600, new H2 wall outlets and plugs, as well as the Hub M200 for Matter and IR control. The Aqara Home app and HomeGuardian cloud also receive upgrades, including Soft Sensor, WHEN-IF-THEN automations, LAN control, and cloud AI, which can even detect flames. Prototypes include a solar-assisted battery-powered camera and a local storage security hub.

Spatial intelligence at IFA 2025

Spatial intelligence ties sensors, AI and context to make rooms react to people without constant commands.

  • Live at IFA 2025, Berlin, 4 September 2025
  • Booth 155, Hall 1.2, Messe Berlin
  • Focus areas: security, comfort, energy use

The goal is a home that anticipates needs. Aqara frames this as the next step in automation, utilising sensing and AI insights to drive actions across various spaces, including homes, hotels, and offices.

New security hardware

Aqara’s Doorbell Camera G400 (Wired) is built for always-on power and weather resistance. It supports PoE or 8–24 V AC/DC, has a 2K sensor and a head-to-toe view. It offers cloud AI for face, package, vehicle and animal detection, plus on-device motion and person detection. It works with Apple Home, Alexa, Google Home, SmartThings and Home Assistant (via RTSP). Storage options include cloud and local.

  • IP65 rating
  • PoE or low-voltage power
  • 2K video, tall field of view
  • Cloud AI events and local detection
  • Broad ecosystem support and flexible storage

Two prototypes were also shown. Camera G510 is a battery outdoor cam with a built-in solar panel, 10,400 mAh battery, 2.5K video and colour night vision. The Home Station M410 is a multi-function hub for cameras, offering long-range connectivity and expandable local storage for 24/7 recording, as well as acting as a Matter hub.

  • G510: solar assist, 2.5K, on-device AI for person/vehicle/package
  • M410: hub for cameras, HDD/SSD/microSD expandability, doubles as Matter hub

Energy and power management

The Radiator Thermostat W600 supports Thread and Zigbee. It can run schedules, automations and app or voice control, and pairs with the Climate Sensor W100. It extends battery life to about two years and adds broader valve support, including RA, RAV, RAVL, Caleffi, Giacomini and M28×1.5.

  • Thread and Zigbee
  • Schedules and app/voice control
  • Two-year battery target
  • Wider mechanical valve compatibility

Aqara is also growing its H2 power range for the EU and the UK. This includes the Wall Outlet H2 UK with USB-C fast charging, the Power Plug H2 for EU/UK, and the IP44 Outdoor Plug H2 EU. A Power Strip H2 EU prototype will be on the stand. Dual Thread/Zigbee, Matter support and power monitoring enable energy-based automations in the Aqara Home app.

  • H2 UK wall outlet with USB-C
  • EU/UK power plugs and IP44 outdoor plug
  • Power Strip H2 EU prototype
  • Dual-protocol radios, Matter and power monitoring

Hub M200 and interoperability

Hub M200 is a multi-protocol box that acts as a Matter Controller, Thread Border Router, a Matter bridge for Aqara Zigbee devices and a 360-degree IR blaster. With Thread, Zigbee, dual-band Wi-Fi, Ethernet, Bluetooth and IR, it ties Aqara gear, IR devices and over 50 types of Matter devices into one system.

  • Matter controller and Thread router
  • Zigbee bridge for legacy devices
  • Dual-band Wi-Fi and Ethernet
  • Bluetooth and 360° IR control

In practice, this means a single hub can link current Aqara sensors and switches, IR remotes such as those for AC units, and a broad set of third-party Matter-compatible devices. Set up paths should be simpler as ecosystems converge on Matter.

App and cloud updates

Aqara Home gains a Soft Sensor to infer occupancy using existing sensors and AI. A new Automation 2.0 engine brings WHEN-IF-THEN logic and batch actions. Local App Control via LAN allows you to maintain control even when the internet connection is lost, and should also improve responsiveness.

  • Soft Sensor occupancy inference
  • WHEN-IF-THEN automations and batch control
  • Local control via LAN with edge hubs like Hub M3

HomeGuardian adds cloud AI detection for faces, packages, animals, vehicles and even flames, plus AI video summaries and natural-language search using VLMs. Rich notifications include snapshots, allowing you to assess events without opening the app.

  • Cloud AI events, including flame detection
  • AI video summaries and search
  • Snapshot-rich push alerts

No info on UAE pricing or availability dates. For now, note the broad ecosystem support across Apple, Google, Amazon, SmartThings, and Home Assistant, which is particularly important for mixed-brand homes in the region.
