Apple has announced the biggest update yet to Apple Creator Studio, its subscription bundle of video, music, image and productivity apps. The 27 October announcement puts built-in MotionVFX content inside Final Cut Pro, adds Generate Fill to Pixelmator Pro, and brings AI assistants in beta to Logic Pro, Keynote, Pages and Numbers. The update reaches the App Store in November, and existing subscribers get it at no extra cost. Apple hasn’t given an exact date.
For UAE readers, the AED 49.99 monthly (AED 499 yearly) price stays as it was when we broke down the earlier Creator Studio update in July. So the bundle gets noticeably bigger without getting dearer.
Final Cut Pro gets MotionVFX and a Pixelmator Pro round trip
The video side gets the biggest change. Apple says Final Cut Pro for Mac now integrates MotionVFX directly, giving editors thousands of templates, titles, transitions and graphics, plus tools for rotoscoping, tracking and colour grading. The effects library comes from Apple’s own purchase of the Polish plug-in maker: TechRepublic reports that MotionVFX confirmed on its website that it was joining Apple, and Winbuzzer dated the deal to March 2026. Editors who used to buy MotionVFX packs separately now get them inside the subscription.
Apple’s curated Content Hub also gains stock video and now appears inside Final Cut Pro. Editors can drop in Apple-selected footage, photos and backgrounds without leaving the timeline. Any image on the timeline can open in Pixelmator Pro, and changes save back to the project automatically, so there’s no reimporting. Final Cut Pro can also generate images from text descriptions inside a project.
Smaller workflow changes round out the release. Final Cut Pro adds more keyframe easing options, lets you disconnect clips from the primary storyline and place them anywhere on the timeline, and supports 23 new transcription languages for captioning and searching footage. Motion gets its own set of MotionVFX plug-ins, covering cinematic colour grading, 3D camera tracking and one-click selection. It also gains text-to-image generation, a Pixelmator Pro round trip, keyframe easing controls, a new Displacement filter and an interactive demo project. Compressor can now encode Cinematic mode video from the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone Duo.
Pixelmator Pro adds Generate Fill
Pixelmator Pro’s headline addition is Generate Fill, which edits part of an image from a written description. You circle an area and describe the change, or you use the existing Free, Quick or Magnetic Selection tools for a tighter edge. Apple says the tool matches the lighting, perspective and texture of the surrounding scene, and a built-in Super Resolution step upscales the generated content. Results can be merged into an existing layer or added as a new one with intelligent masking, so you can keep refining them.
Logic Pro gets an assistant, a new Browser and drum stems
Logic Pro for Mac gets a new intelligent assistant, labelled beta, built on a combination of Apple-built models and OpenAI. Apple says it can help you navigate production workflows, start a new song, set up a vocal track from a single prompt or refine an active project. A redesigned Browser sits alongside it and centralises loops, instruments and effect patches. It uses an on-device audio analysis tool called music understanding to classify and tag sounds. You can then search your whole collection or drag in a loop to surface matching audio. Apple also says the Browser includes a Splice library.
Stem Splitter can now isolate, replace or rebalance drum parts without the original multitracks. A new Producer Pack from 20-time Grammy winner Sergio George adds his signature piano sound and Latin jazz and salsa loops, including a salsa percussion section, brass ensemble and basses. Logic Pro on Mac and iPad also gets a Liquid Glass redesign. Separately, Voice Memo Studio Sound reduces room ambience and background noise in recordings from supported iPhone models, with the option to keep fine-tuning in Logic Pro.
Apple’s Brent Chiu-Watson, senior director of Worldwide Product Marketing for Apps and iCloud, said the assistants in Logic Pro, Keynote, Pages and Numbers “are going to change the game” for how people learn and use the apps.
Keynote, Pages and Numbers get beta assistants and MCP support
The same Apple-and-OpenAI approach reaches the productivity apps. Each of Keynote, Pages and Numbers gets an assistant, in beta, that reads the document it’s working in. In Keynote it helps design, animate and refine slides. In Pages it drafts, restructures and fine-tunes text. In Numbers it calculates, visualises and organises data, suggests chart types with a one-tap preview and builds custom tables using world knowledge.
The more consequential addition for power users is Model Context Protocol support. Apple says it lets external AI agents and tools read content, make edits and run automated actions inside the three apps. Keynote also supports the new Keynote Interchange Format (.keyx), an open, JSON-based bundle that Apple designed to be readable by external tools, developer workflows and AI agents. Together, the two features make documents easier for third-party AI tools to work with.
The Content Hub also gets Apple-curated stock video across the three apps, along with new premium templates and themes. Freeform adds text styles for one-step formatting, plus custom and preset board background colours. In December it gains image editing in Pixelmator Pro and editable shapes generated from text descriptions.
