Newton is leaving Ant-Man 4 in the fans’ hands
Newton’s comments describe Ant-Man 4 as a fandom-driven possibility rather than an active Marvel project. During an interview with The Direct, she said the decision was “up to the fans at the end of the day” and pointed to the influence audiences can have over sequels and revivals.

Her optimism gives fans something to campaign for, but the practical status remains unchanged: Marvel Studios has made no announcement about a fourth film. The comments carry enthusiasm rather than production details, so keep those homemade Ant-Man 4 countdown calendars in the drawer for now.
Avengers: Doomsday is the Ant-Man family’s next step
Scott Lang and Cassie Lang are set to appear in Avengers: Doomsday before any possible fourth Ant-Man film. Both Paul Rudd and Newton are attached to the Avengers film, giving Marvel another opportunity to develop the characters within its larger ensemble.
Newton became the MCU’s current Cassie in 2023’s Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, where the older Cassie fought alongside her father as a costumed hero. Abby Ryder Fortson previously played Cassie as a child in Ant-Man and Ant-Man and the Wasp, while Emma Fuhrmann portrayed her as a teenager in Avengers: Endgame.
Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has described Ant-Man’s Avengers: Doomsday role as an “elder statesman” dealing with “other newer characters.” Cassie’s involvement also keeps her available for stories beyond her father’s solo series. Marvel has yet to commit to a fourth Ant-Man film
Ant-Man 4 remains unannounced, and neither Newton nor director Peyton Reed has confirmed that it is in development. Marvel has stayed quiet about another entry since Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.
During the Quantumania press cycle, Reed said he was “treating it like a trilogy” because filmmakers could never presume they would get another instalment. He also said there was “a lot of story to be told with these characters,” leaving creative room without promising another film.
Marvel has frequently kept its character-focused films to trilogies, even when their heroes continued appearing elsewhere in the MCU. The source identifies Thor and Spider-Man as the only MCU heroes to receive fourth solo instalments, so another Ant-Man film would sit outside the studio’s usual pattern.
Newton has given Ant-Man fans an invitation to be loud. Marvel still has to turn that enthusiasm into an actual film, and Avengers: Doomsday will arrive first as the clearest indication of where Scott and Cassie Lang are heading.
