Anker MindBase is a new local AI home hub that processes security-camera footage on-device, adds local storage and works as a Matter controller. Anker announced it at IFA 2026, but has not said when it will launch or what it will cost.
What Anker MindBase does locally
MindBase runs Anker’s TrueSmart Agent on a dedicated AI Core compute card rated at 26 TOPS. The company says the system can assess camera events, search recordings using natural language and coordinate connected devices without sending the main processing workload to the cloud. Optional cloud features can still involve uploads, according to the product specifications reported by HomeKit News.
The hub is also designed to hold the home’s data. Anker says it supports up to 48TB of expandable local storage, with two drive bays for 2.5-inch or 3.5-inch drives. That gives it a NAS role alongside its security functions, with support for photos, videos, recordings and other files.
Matter 1.5 and HomeKit support
The Verge reports that MindBase will act as a Matter 1.5 controller and support more than 40 Matter device categories, including lights, sensors and HVAC systems. Anker’s release says its EasyOmni Link software supports close to 100 Anker devices and hundreds of Matter-compatible products from other manufacturers.
Wireless connectivity includes Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Thread and Zigbee. HomeKit Secure Video compatibility is also listed, although Anker has not said which cameras will support it through MindBase or whether existing eufy models will gain the feature.
MindBase arrives as Anker tries to put more of the smart home’s processing inside the home. The approach is familiar; the storage bays and promised device coordination make this a larger proposition than another camera hub. Prices and release dates will have to wait.
