Dotemu's indie beat 'em up Absolum has sold more than 500,000 copies, the publisher announced Monday. Alongside the sales milestone, Dotemu revealed that Threads of Fate, a free content update launching February 12, will add a new game mode and post-game challenges to the acclaimed brawler.

The Threads of Fate update introduces Mystic Ordeal, a new game mode that uses dozens of modifiers to create challenging scenarios distinct from the main campaign. Players will face steep challenges with surprises that contrast boldly from the core adventure, according to Dotemu's announcement.
