Casio has announced a new EDIFICE called the EFK-100, and it’s different. The dial uses forged carbon. And, for the first time in a Casio timepiece, there’s a mechanical movement inside. The watch is confirmed for the UAE. Casio is also releasing three EFK-100D models that mimic forged carbon with an electroformed dial.
What’s new with the EFK-100
Casio is putting forged carbon on the dial and switching to mechanical. That’s the headline.
- Forged-carbon dial with unique, random patterns
- Three-hand layout with date window
- See-through case back
- Approx. 40-hour power reserve
- Announced for the UAE on 29 September 2025
Forged carbon is common in fast cars and custom parts. On a watch dial it gives a textured look that isn’t repeated from piece to piece. Casio keeps the dial simple — three hands and a date — so the pattern does the talking. The case back is open to show the movement in action. Casio quotes about 40 hours of power on a full wind.

Casio’s first mechanical movement claim
Casio says this is the first time a Casio timepiece carries a mechanical movement. That’s a big shift for a brand known for quartz and Tough Solar.
- First mechanical movement in a Casio timepiece (per Casio)
- Brought to EDIFICE to mirror the feel of driving
- “Speed & Intelligence” still the theme for EDIFICE
Casio frames the move as a nod to motorsport and the joy of mechanics — engines, suspensions, all that kinetic theatre. You can see that in the open case back, which highlights the rotor and gear train like a tiny engine bay. The company positions EDIFICE as the right line for this step, tying back to its long-running “Speed & Intelligence” brand pitch.
(Into Casio already? We covered G-SHOCK’s MR-G launch in Dubai last week — different vibe, still very Casio.)

Models and variants
There’s one forged-carbon model and three electroformed-dial models.
- EFK-100CD-1A — forged-carbon dial, black
- EFK-100D-2A — electroformed dial, blue
- EFK-100D-3A — electroformed dial, green
- EFK-100D-7A — electroformed dial, white
The “CD” model gets actual forged carbon on the dial. The “D” trio uses electroforming to copy that layered, mottled look in colour. The naming is standard Casio: CD for the carbon dial, D for the stainless variants with patterned plates. Expect each to wear differently: black should read stealth; blue and green will pop; white keeps it clean.

UAE availability and what’s missing
Casio confirms UAE availability. Pricing and exact on-sale dates aren’t listed in the release.
- UAE availability confirmed
- Price not disclosed
- Launch date window not specified beyond announcement date
- Power reserve and design details confirmed
That leaves two open questions: how much, and when can you buy it? We’ll update once Casio shares UAE pricing and retail channels. For now, the spec sheet is set: forged-carbon dial on the hero model, see-through back, about 40 hours of run time, and a neat three-hand layout with date.
