The show’s writers have reportedly been released to pursue other projects. Disney’s public renewal therefore never reached the writing stage described in Variety’s report, leaving the series with a single completed season.

The reversal is especially striking because second seasons remain relatively uncommon among Marvel’s live-action Disney+ shows. WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Hawkeye, and Moon Knight all ran for one season, while Loki received two.

How did Wonder Man perform?

Wonder Man received strong reviews, but the publicly available viewing data showed limited chart momentum. Season 1 held a 91% critical approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, while Disney did not release viewing figures for the series.

The show reached number eight on Nielsen’s streaming originals chart for the week of 26 January to 1 February. It dropped out of the chart the following week, making that its only appearance in Nielsen’s streaming top 10.
