Michelle Buteau is essentially doing a one-woman show with a very good ensemble around her. She created the series with Danielle Sanchez-Witzel, she stars in it, and she brings the same energy to Mavis Beaumont that she brings to everything — which is to say, a lot of it, and all of it earned.
