Marvel Studios revealed the debut trailer for Vision Quest at D23, and James Spader’s Ultron appears in human form for the first time. The series, which closes the WandaVision trilogy, premieres on Disney+ on October 14.
The trailer went online after Marvel’s D23 presentation on August 14. It picks up with Paul Bettany’s White Vision — the version of the synthezoid last seen flying off at the end of WandaVision — trying to work out who he is without the memories he never lived.
James Spader reprises his role as Ultron, this time appearing in personified human form as a complex father figure inside Vision’s mind.

What does the Vision Quest trailer show?
Spader’s return is his first live-action Ultron since 2015’s Avengers: Age of Ultron, and the first time the character has worn his actor’s face. The trailer pairs a bearded, bespectacled, long-coated Spader with the familiar robot body — a split first seen on the D23 show floor. It is a wardrobe change 11 years in the making.
Much of the series plays out inside Vision’s mind, where Stark’s old programs — Jarvis, Friday and Edith — exist as people. Ultron is the one program Bettany has said stays locked “behind a pretty impressive firewall because he’s a psychopath.” The human form gives Spader the close-up menace a CGI robot never could.
The trailer also offers a first look at an adult Tommy, Vision and Wanda’s son, played by Ruaridh Mollica — the sibling Billy went looking for at the end of Agatha All Along. Showrunner Terry Matalas, of Star Trek: Picard, has promised audiences will see “a lot of James Spader and a lot of Paul Bettany together.” Todd Stashwick, T’Nia Miller and Emily Hampshire co-star.
When does Vision Quest premiere on Disney+?
Vision Quest arrives on October 14 with eight episodes, wrapping the trilogy that began with WandaVision and continued through Agatha All Along. UAE subscribers get it the same day as the global rollout, as tbreak noted when the date was confirmed. Disney+ in the UAE runs AED 49.99 a month.
Who created Vision Quest?
Terry Matalas, showrunner of Star Trek: Picard, created the series for Marvel Television, taking over the WandaVision trilogy from Jac Schaeffer.
Is Vision Quest the end of the WandaVision trilogy?

Will Ultron be the main villain of Vision Quest?
