The Circle is a reality show like no other. Contestants can only interact with each other via a social media app and must compete for popularity and credibility to stay in the competition. Can they prove to the others that they aren’t catfishing? Can they build enough alliances to avoid elimination?
The five seasons of The Circle were fun and dramatic and taught us much about what it takes to become a winner on social media. But what are the competition’s five winners doing now? Here you can catch up on their lives and careers since appearing on The Circle.
Joey Sasso – Season 1 Winner
Joey played himself rather than a catfish in The Circle, and it took him far in Season 1. He established loyal bromances, flirted with the ladies, and earned his place as the most likeable and credible player. Just behind Joey in second place came Shooby, one of Joey’s closest allies in the game.
Fans of The Circle will be pleased to hear that Joey and Shooby are still friends now. According to Joey’s social media, they have hung out together several times since the show, and it looks like Joey took Shooby partying, as promised!
In terms of his career after The Circle, Joey continued his pre-show pursuits, bartending and acting. He also established himself as an influencer and appeared on the Netflix show Perfect Match, where he had a whirlwind romance with Kariselle Snow.
DeLeesa St. Agathe – Season 2 Winner
DeLeesa St. Agathe catfished her fellow contestants on The Circle, appearing as her husband Trevor. Her gameplay was strong; she won hearts by acting as a kind single father who could relate emotionally to the ladies—so much so that contestant Chloe Veitch fell head over heels!
What has DeLeesa been up to since The Circle? First off, she bought a bigger home for her family with her $100,000 winnings. What’s more, she’s been working on her vlogs and YouTube channel, where she publishes fun content featuring her husband and children.
DeLeesa also runs her own clothing line, Be Unique Shoppe. With a third baby now on the way, the mompreneur will be busy—but if her ambitious attitude on The Circle is anything to go by, she’ll be fine.
James Andre Jefferson Jr. – Season 3 Winner
James didn’t enter The Circle until late in the competition but gained immediate popularity. His friendly nature, his sense of humour, and his quick alliances all helped him gain the top spot as an influencer and, ultimately, win the game.
Fans of James’ humour on The Circle will be glad his comedy career is thriving. James ‘ entertaining posts have gained hundreds of thousands of followers, be it on Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, or TikTok. He also has a podcast you can tune into online.
As for his personal life, James got married last summer to his long-term girlfriend, Brittany. Their social media presence as a couple is lowkey, but they did post an impressive Valentine’s Day photoshoot earlier this year.
Frank Grimsley – Season 4 Winner
In Season 4, Frank wooed the other contestants with his genuine, positive, and friendly nature. And it paid off: he formed several strong connections and was voted to become an influencer multiple times. Ultimately, his victory shows that being yourself in The Circle beats any cunning game plan.
Since appearing on the show, Frank has continued with his work as a licensed therapist. He has also gained a large following on Instagram, where he posts words of inspiration relating to grief, perseverance, gratitude, and body positivity.
Now an established content creator, Frank has collaborated with various brands and has been featured on the Netflix show How to Get Rich. His future is looking bright!
Sam Carmona – Season 5 Winner
Sassy and outspoken, Sam landed last place in the first Circle vote of her season. But she turned it around over time, impressing her co-contestants with honesty, humour, and loyalty. She also managed to stay out of the love triangles and drama, which certainly worked in her favour.
After winning The Circle Season 5, Sam used her prize money to support her mother and grandmother, as promised. She also expanded her social media presence and now has over 800k followers on TikTok, where she posts fun content on trends and life as a ‘Brooklyn Rican’.
…And that’s it! As you can see, all five winners of The Circle have been incredibly busy and successful since their time on the show. Interestingly, some fan favourites who didn’t win The Circle have also seen a lot of success. We’ll also post an update about their lives, so watch this space!
