The Buccaneers

If you are a fan of period dramas, you have to check out the new series on Apple TV+ “The Buccaneers”, which is set in 1870 in London and follows a group of fun- loving American girls burst onto the scene in tightly corseted, kicking off an Anglo American culture clash. Sent to secure husbands and status, the girls’ hearts are set on much more than that.

The series is directed by Susanna White and stars Guy Remmers, Matthew Broome and Simone Kirby, and set to hit Apple TV+ on November 8, 2023.

For All Mankind Season 4

For All Mankind season four takes place in the year 2003, eight years after the events of Season 3. As the season progresses, the stakes continue to rise as the various factions vying for control of the asteroid mining industry clash. Lisa and Danny met in an online insomnia support group and immediately hit it off. They discover they have a lot in common, but there is one tiny problem: they don’t know their real names yet and haven’t even met in person. The Morning Show Season 3

The third season of The Morning Show will pick up where the second season left off. The future of UBA is in question after a tech titan takes an interest in the network, and loyalties are pushed to the brink. Alex Levy (Jennifer Aniston) is still fighting to retain her job as a top news anchor, and Bradley Jackson (Reese Witherspoon) is still trying to find her place in the world of morning news.

After the shooting incident in season two, Alex and Bradley try to rebuild their careers. Alex becomes the new editor-in-chief of UBA, while Bradley becomes an independent investigative journalist.

Meanwhile, Bradley tries to investigate allegations of corruption within UBA. This investigation leads her to uncover dark secrets about the news network.

In addition to Aniston and Witherspoon, the third season will star Steve Carell, Billy Crudup, Mark Duplass, Julianna Margulies, and Greta Lee. The show was created by Kerry Ehrin and produced by Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine.

The Changeling Season 1

The Changeling is Apple TV+’s entry into the yearly ‘haunted house’ series we see from every streamer.

The series follows the story of Apollo and Anthony, a father and son duo, who move into a new home and soon realize that there is a ghost amongst them. Apollo is a composer by profession who sought out a change of scenery for himself and his son after the tragic loss of his wife.

However, they soon realize that a ghost is terrorizing them with strange experiences around the house. As they dig deeper, they learn that the spirit belongs to a young boy murdered by his wealthy father and was never brought to justice. Apollo and Anthony promise to find justice for the boy and set him free from the house that’s binding him like a curse. 

The psychological horror drama is based on Victor LaValle’s novel of the same name. It stars LaKeith Stanfield, Jonelle Gunderson, Emy Coligado, and Elena Hust.

Invasion season 2

Apple TV+’s sci-fi series, as the name would suggest, is about an alien invasion told through the eyes of five ordinary people across the globe in real-time.

In the second season, which picks up a few months after the events of the first season, aliens seem to have made significant progress in their invasion of Earth and have adapted to the planet. Humans are still struggling to cope and are finding ways to survive and fight back against the very unfriendly aliens.

While not much is known about what the second season will entail, the Simon Kinberg (producer of X-Men, Deadpool 2) and David Weil (Citadel) show promises an even more action-packed and suspenseful season about the story of survival, hope, and the power of the human spirit.

Wanted: The Escape of Carlos Ghosn

The four-part documentary series will tell the story of Carlos Ghosn, the former CEO of Nissan and Renault, his arrest in Japan for financial misconduct in 2018, and his subsequent escape from house arrest in December 2019, where he fled to Lebanon. 

The series will explore the events leading up to Ghosn’s arrest, escape, and aftermath. It will feature interviews with people who were involved in the case, including prosecutors, lawyers, and journalists, as well as from Ghosn himself.

The series is directed by Alexis Printemps and produced by John Battsek.

Apple TV+ Physical series follows Sheila Rubin, a tortured housewife who builds an empire in aerobics.

In Season 3, Rubin finds her status challenged by a rising celebrity exercise goddess named Kelly Kilmartin, who not only becomes a professional threat but also manages to get inside her head. The new season explores how Rubin will handle Kilmartin’s rising stardom and manage the hard-earned success she has worked so hard for.

The After Party Season 2

Apple TV+’s hit murder mystery series, The Afterparty, is returning with an all-new second season, and it promises to be as wild – and hilarious – as the first one.

The second season occurs at a wedding, where the groom is mysteriously murdered. Aniq finds himself in a pickle once again as yet another whodunnit unravels before him. Detective Danner returns to solve the murder, questioning family members, star-crossed lovers and business partners to figure out who the real killer is. The new season continues the show’s unique format where each suspect recounts their weekend, giving the show a unique perspective on each episode and a new visual style. 

The show stars Sam Richardson, Zoe Chao, Tiffany Haddish, Zach Woods, Elizabeth Perkins and more.

Foundation Season 2

The second season of Foundation picks up right after the events of the first season, where we see the Galactic Empire in complete chaos, and the Foundation, a group of exiles tasked to preserve knowledge and rebuild civilisation, is struggling to survive.

To make matters worse, the Foundation is poised to face new challenges with a vengeful queen determined to destroy the Empire, a colony of Mentalics that threatens to alter psychohistory, and an impending Second Crisis war with the Empire.

Swagger Season 2

Three alien crime fighters, Gus, Sophie and Max, who are chasing an intergalactic villain named Zolthard through a wormhole, end up stranded in the brain of a 16-year-old boy and they must enlist his help to save the Earth from Zolthard.The film is directed by Paul Meyer and Gerhard Painter, and the voice cast includes Bonko Khoza, Roberto Pombo and Chris van Rensburg, and will be released in cinemas in 26 October.
