Sitting in Bars with Cake

Jane loves cake but hasn’t had much luck finding actual love. One day, she takes a cake she baked to her best friend’s birthday hosted in a bar and is surprised to see her swarmed by men. Her friend, Corinne, is quite taken aback by this random success and has a clever little idea – she convinces Jane that she should bake cakes and bring them into bars – also known as ‘cakebarring’ – in the hope that it will help find her true love and develop confidence.
Jane agrees to give it a go and starts taking cakes to different bars every week. She meets a variety of men as a result, but she doesn’t find the connection she’s looking for. Instead, she finds that her little excursion is helping her build confidence and become more outgoing and assertive. By the end of the year, Jane might not have found her soul mate, but she has found herself.
Sitting in Bars with Cake is based on a book of the same name by Audrey Shulman, who also wrote the movie. Trish Sie directs it, stars Yara Shahidi, Odessa A’zion, Better Midler, Ron Livingston and more.
The Wheel of Time Season 2

Amazon Prime Video’s immensely popular The Wheel of Time continues with its second season this year and picks up right after the first season’s events. Moiraine and the Aes Sedai are leading Rand al’Thor, Perrin Aybara, and Egwene al’Vere on a journey to the White Tower in Tar Valon, where they must face new threads from the Dark One’s forces, including a new foe – a mysterious Warder Logain Ablar.
The show will also explore the internal struggles of some of the characters. Rand has yet to come to terms with his identity as the Dragon Reborn and is haunted by the visions of the Dark One. He is unsure whether he can be the hero everyone believes him to be. Egwene and Nynaever also face their demons – Egwene is eager to learn more about One Power and wants to prove herself to Aes Sedai. Nynaeve, on the other hand, is struggling to control her power and is afraid of what it might do to her.
The new season will also introduce new characters, including Elayne Trakand, the princess of Andor; Avienda, a Wise One of the Aiel; and Min Farshaw, a fortune-teller who sees visions of the future.
