When is Toy Story 5 on Disney+?

The film lands on Disney+ on September 23, on the same day worldwide. A 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray — including a steelbook collectors have been chasing — arrives the day before, on September 22, and the movie is already available to rent or buy digitally.

A new trailer for the streaming arrival leans heavily on an army of Buzz Lightyears. Disney has also released a music video for the piano version of Taylor Swift’s “I Knew It, I Knew You”, the song she wrote for the film, now streaming on Disney+, Spotify and Apple Music.

The box office run it is following

Toy Story 5 opened to $160 million domestically, per Deadline, the biggest opening of 2026 and the second-best ever for an animated film stateside behind Pixar’s own Incredibles 2. It has since passed $1.1 billion worldwide on a reported $250 million budget, per IGN, making it the third Toy Story film to cross the billion-dollar mark after Toy Story 3 and Toy Story 4. We covered the record preview opening back in June.

The franchise as a whole has now grossed over $3.3 billion, trailing only Despicable Me among the highest-grossing animated franchises.

Toy Story 5 in the UAE

Disney+ is available in the UAE, so the film arrives on September 23 at the same time as everywhere else. A Disney+ subscription in the UAE costs AED 49.99 a month. The first four films, plus shorts and specials, are already on the service for anyone catching up before the new one lands.

The sequel was directed by Andrew Stanton, with Tom Hanks, Tim Allen and Joan Cusack returning as Woody, Buzz and Jessie, and Greta Lee joining as Lilypad, the tablet that turns playtime upside down.
