Dubai’s new Jumeirah mall is getting a ramen house that takes no bookings

Tora Tora, a walk-in-only Japanese ramen house, opens at First Avenue Mall Jumeirah later this year. Here’s what we know so far.

Tora Tora, a modern Japanese ramen house inspired by Japanese street culture, will open at First Avenue Mall Jumeirah later this year. The restaurant is walk-in only, with no reservations.

The menu centres on freshly prepared ramen, backed by Japanese street-food favourites, small plates and playful drinks and desserts. Full details remain under wraps, but the concept is aimed at quick lunches, casual dinners and gatherings with friends.

Tora is the Japanese word for tiger, and the identity leans into it: bold visuals, and an interior designed by Australian studio mckimm. The floor plan is built around an interactive kitchen at the heart of the restaurant, inspired by the shape of the brandmark, with traditional Japanese references set against contemporary details.

“Our vision for Tora Tora is to create a ramen destination that celebrates authentic flavours, careful craftsmanship and the vibrant energy of Japanese street culture. From the broths and noodles to the overall atmosphere, every detail is being thoughtfully developed to offer guests an experience that feels welcoming, exciting and full of character. We look forward to opening our doors in Jumeirah and introducing the community to Tora Tora”

First Avenue Mall Jumeirah is the new food-led development on Jumeirah Road near Jumeirah Fishing Harbour — not to be confused with the First Avenue Mall in Motor City. The restaurant’s own site lists its address on Al Wasl Road, Umm Suqeim 1. It joins a stretch of recent Jumeirah openings, and adds a second Japanese kitchen to the neighbourhood alongside MEI at Mina Al Salam.

Tora Tora is one of several names announced for the mall so far, alongside LA-born Jon & Vinny’s, Abu Dhabi favourite Soraya and homegrown concepts like Nala and Lost in Tokyo, per What’s On and UAE Stories.

September is currently anticipated for the opening; the menu and an official date are yet to be confirmed. Further details will be revealed on the Tora Tora website.
