Tesla has set 1 October 2026 for the next-generation Tesla Roadster reveal, nearly nine years after the electric sports car was first shown and six years after its original delivery target.
Tesla posted “Go for launch” with a graphic showing “10.01”, while Elon Musk followed up with “New Tesla Roadster Unveil 10.01”, according to Reuters. The company has also added a countdown to its Roadster website.
Tesla Roadster reveal follows years of delays
Tesla first revealed the second-generation Roadster in November 2017 alongside the Semi. It originally said deliveries would begin in 2020, but the car has since moved through several revised timelines without entering production.
The October event is a reveal, not a confirmed production start or delivery date. Reporting from TechCrunch says the teaser appears to reference the optional cold-gas thrusters Tesla has discussed with SpaceX. The package has been described as allowing the car to lift off briefly, which leaves the production version with a fairly high bar to clear.
What Tesla has promised for the Roadster
Tesla’s current Roadster page lists a claimed 1.9-second 0–60 mph time, a top speed above 250 mph and 620 miles of range. Those figures remain targets for a car that has not yet reached production.
Tesla has not announced UAE pricing, local availability or a regional launch date. The October presentation may provide clearer production information, but buyers in the UAE will still need a local sales and delivery plan before the Roadster becomes a practical order.
