Ted Lasso Season 4 has broken the Apple TV+ launch record, drawing 296.6 million US viewing minutes across its first two days, per Nielsen data supplied by Apple. The season debut on 5 August alone was the most-streamed program in the US that day, with more than 200 million minutes.
The figure beats the openings of Severance’s second season — previously the platform’s biggest launch — and every prior Lasso season. Apple calls it the biggest debut in the service’s history.
The record arrives three years after Season 3 was billed as the finale. That season still managed 16.9 billion minutes across all 24 episodes, the most-watched streaming original of its debut year. The audience apparently did not get the memo about the farewell.
Ted Lasso Season 4’s record launch
Season 4 sends Ted back to Richmond to coach a second-division women’s team — the Lady Greyhounds, in Apple’s press materials. Jason Sudeikis returns with Hannah Waddingham, Juno Temple, Brett Goldstein, Brendan Hunt and Jeremy Swift, while Tanya Reynolds, Jude Mack, Faye Marsay, Rex Hayes, Aisling Sharkey, Abbie Hern and Grant Feely join the squad. New episodes land every Wednesday through 7 October.

Apple TV+ costs AED 27.99 a month in the UAE, and Season 4’s episodes arrive on the same global schedule as everywhere else — a new instalment every Wednesday. The premiere was a global debut rather than a US-only window, so UAE subscribers are part of the launch that just set the record.
