Honor announced the X9a 5G is now available in the UAE for AED 1,399, making it an affordable device compared to some of the more expensive 5G phones on the market. The X9a 5G is expected to be released in other countries soon as well, although details are yet to be announced.

Design and display

Honor announced the X9a 5G to have an ultra-tough AMOLED curved display, 0.65mm reinforced glass on the front, a punch-hole selfie camera design, and a circular triple-lens rear camera module, packed in three colours; Midnight Black, Emerald Green, and Titanium Silver.


Additionally, the 6.67 inches screen offers a resolution of 1080*2400 pixels, a 120Hz refresh rate, and 1.07B colours peaking at 800 nits for optimal outdoor results. Based on laboratory tests, Honor states the phone can endure most bumps without a problem, whether dropped, squeezed, or impacted.

Further, Honor X9a 5G will have an advanced 1920Hz high-frequency PWM dimming technology to protect your eyes in dim lights.

Features and performance

The Honor X9a 5G should provide plenty of features and performance to get you through your day. The device will have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 octa-core processor, clocked at up to 2.2GHz. You’ll also get 13GB (8GB physical + 5GB virtual) Honor RAM Turbo technology and 256GB of internal storage, giving you good performance and plenty of space to store all your data and apps.


On the graphics side, the Honor X9a 5G is set to come with the Adreno 619 GPU for smooth gaming and graphics-intensive tasks. It will also support 5G connectivity for faster download speeds, making your online activities much smoother.

Honor’s built-in dual-MIC noise cancellation technology should provide clear phone calls by eradicating environmental noise and boosting the human voice. Additionally, the company promises the under-the-screen fingerprint sensor can make it even more efficient and convenient to unlock and pay.


Honor X9a 5G will come pre-installed with MagicUI 6.1 Android skin, giving you access to various customizable features. And with the help of its AI, Android 12 helps you manage your device better and enhance your overall experience.

The OS allows for smooth and fluid animations and transitions, so navigating menus and applications is always a breeze. It also comes with excellent multitasking capabilities and support for split-screen mode, making it easier to get more done faster.

MagicUI 6.1 also brings some new features, such as App Cloner, which lets you create multiple instances of the same app and run them simultaneously, and an efficient energy-saving feature that helps preserve battery life and performance.


The Honor X9a 5G will come with a triple rear camera setup. It has a 64MP Main camera, a 5MP Ultra Wide&Depth camera, and a 2MP Macro camera. It will also have a 16MP selfie camera that can record up to 1080p video shooting and features such as Filters, Face Recognition, and AI Beauty Mode.

With the 64MP Main camera, Honor promises to capture stunning photos with impressive detail, and the depth sensor will help you take beautiful portrait shots with perfect blur and focus. Honor has announced you can also shoot videos with the rear cameras up to 3456*4608 pixels.

Honor claims the X9a 5G will have a 5,100 mAh Lithium Polymer battery that lasts two days. The device will also support 40W Honor supercharging technology, which can quickly top up your device when running low, allowing 12.5 hours of video watching with only 30 minutes of charge time.
