Starting in August 2023, Apple is implementing a new pricing structure for iCloud storage plans across many countries, including the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Saudi Arabia.
Apple has sent emails informing users of iCloud+ subscriptions about the price change. In the UAE, the price change for iCloud+ with 2 TB of storage has increased from AED 36.99 to AED 39.99, which isn’t much at all, but other parts of the world, such as the UK, have their price increased by £2.00 per month which converts to over 9 Dirhams per month.

iCloud provides a convenient and secure way to store and sync data across Apple devices, ensuring users can seamlessly access their files from an iPhone, iPad or Mac. Apple provides a free-tier plan for iCloud, limited to 5GB storage. That’s not much, and you will need to upgrade to a paid plan if you plan to store your photos on iCloud.
Apple has always emphasized the importance of data privacy and security, and this commitment extends to its iCloud service. With end-to-end encryption, Apple ensures that users’ data remains private and protected. This means only the user can access their files, and Apple cannot read or access the data stored in iCloud.
It’s worth noting that while the prices may have changed, Apple continues to offer various iCloud storage plans to cater to different user requirements. From the free 5GB storage plan to the larger storage options, users can select the plan that best suits their needs. Additionally, Apple frequently introduces new features and enhancements to iCloud, further enriching the user experience and strengthening the service’s value proposition.
