The Sonos Ace Ultra’s price, specs and release date have all leaked, ahead of Sonos’ September launch event.

Per Dealabs, the headphones will cost US$449 in the US, €449 in Europe and £399 in the UK — the same as the original Ace’s US launch price, and below its €499 European one. The leak puts the announcement on 1 September, with sales starting 29 September.

Noise cancelling is reported at up to twice the Ace’s effectiveness, with an Aware mode that lets sound in. Battery life stretches to 35 hours with ANC on, up from 30, and three minutes of charging buys three hours of playback. Touch controls replace the physical buttons, and the ear pads and battery are replaceable.

A beamforming mic array handles calls, and adaptive EQ adjusts to how the headphones sit. Handoff to Sonos’ Dolby Atmos soundbars is said to improve, with TrueCinema and head tracking.

What the Sonos Ace Ultra filing shows

The FCC filing, which appeared earlier this month, is heavily redacted but identifies the product as model S52A. What survives is a list of five colourways: Greige, Shadow Black, Agave, Blush and Sand.

The leak names a narrower retail lineup: Black, White and Agave, a blue-green shade. Agave is the only name on both lists. The current Ace ships only in black and white, so Agave would be the first colour Sonos has allowed on its headphones.

WiFi and a voice assistant

The radio details in the filing suggest the Ace Ultra adds WiFi alongside Bluetooth, with support for Sonos’ own voice assistant, per Lowpass, which first reported the filing. Neither feature is confirmed. WiFi would let the headphones join a Sonos system the way the speakers do, rather than pairing to a phone.

A September launch event

Sonos confirmed the launch window last week. On the company’s third-quarter earnings call:

In September, we’ll be hosting a product launch event.

Tom Conrad, chief executive of Sonos

Conrad framed the event around the company’s AI push, saying “conversational computing and predictive intelligence are moving into the home.” He has described AI-aided voice control as a central part of Sonos’ strategy; the Ace Ultra’s apparent voice assistant support would be the first headphones-shaped piece of that plan.

Sonos has spent the past year broadening the line — a portable speaker, a pro-audio amp for custom installs, and now, it appears, a flagship headphone refresh.

Price in the UAE

The Ace launched in June 2024 at US$449 and sells in the UAE from about AED 1,479 on Amazon.ae, where it launched at around AED 2,099. At the leaked US$449, the Ultra should land near that — roughly AED 1,900–2,100 — possibly below, given Sonos priced the European model under the Ace’s launch price. Expect it through the same channels — Virgin Megastore and Amazon.ae — after the September event.
