The Reolink RP-PCB8M, a 4K PoE bullet security camera rated for ambient temperatures up to 55°C, is now available in the UAE from AED 299.
Most consumer cameras are rated to operate up to 45–50°C, and Gulf summers routinely exceed that. Sweihan, in Abu Dhabi’s Al Ain region, hit 51.8°C on 1 August 2025, according to Reuters. Past the thermal ceiling, footage degrades, connections drop and the camera can fail outright.
“Security is fundamentally about reliability. If a camera fails because of the afternoon sun, it isn’t fulfilling its purpose. The RP-PCB8M and RP-PN16 are here for property owners who want to install a system once and trust it completely — through summer, through dust storms, and through the night.”
Syed Sameer Ali, regional head of sales for the Middle East, Africa and India at Reolink
South-facing walls run hotter than the air around them. The RP-PCB8M answers with an aluminium housing that dissipates heat rather than warping, and an IP67 seal that keeps out the dust carried on summer winds. Reolink’s product page lists 8MP capture at 25fps, a 125° field of view, colour night vision with infrared out to 30 metres, and a microSD slot that holds up to 512GB — roughly 145 hours of footage.

Reolink RP-PCB8M: specs and AI features
The camera’s AI layer does person, vehicle and animal detection, plus perimeter alerts for line crossing, zone intrusion and loitering. A beta feature flags objects forgotten or removed from a key area — aimed at shops and villas rather than the average drive.
The companion RP-PN16 is a 24-channel PoE network video recorder running Reolink’s ReoNeura AI. It searches recordings by plain-language description, maps foot traffic as heat data for retail layouts, takes up to 32TB of storage, and encrypts footage so a stolen recorder stays locked.
What it means if you’re shopping in the UAE
The RP-PCB8M is listed at AED 299 at Sharaf DG, and the RP-PN16 at AED 999 on Amazon.ae (hard drives not included). Both are also stocked at Noon, Shouki Electronics, Al Munir Computers and Power Zone Electronics, per the release.
Anyone mounting a camera on an exterior wall here should check its operating temperature range first. The RP-PCB8M is rated from -30°C to 55°C, which covers a Gulf summer with room to spare. It joins Ring’s 4K cameras and smart doorbells, which arrived in the UAE this year.

Does the Reolink RP-PCB8M need a subscription?
No. Footage is stored on a microSD card (up to 512GB) or a Reolink NVR, and there is no cloud fee.
Is the RP-PCB8M a Wi-Fi camera?
No. It connects by Power over Ethernet, which carries both power and data through one cable, so it needs a PoE switch or a Reolink NVR such as the RP-PN16.
What is Reolink?
Reolink is a security camera brand selling wired and wireless cameras, NVRs and doorbells, mainly direct to consumers. Its products are stocked by Amazon, Noon and Sharaf DG in the UAE.
