Oppo reportedly cancelled the Find X10 Ultra, the successor to the Find X9 Ultra. Leaker Digital Chat Station made the claim in a Weibo post, which 9to5Google picked up, and Oppo hasn’t commented.
Without an Ultra, Oppo’s top phone is the Find X10 Pro Max, and it’s a step down on paper. Oppo launched the Find X9 Ultra in April with a top-tier Snapdragon chip and 16GB of RAM. The Pro Max uses a MediaTek flagship instead, with 12GB of RAM in most variants.
The post doesn’t give a reason. 9to5Google says the memory shortage (RAMageddon) is “almost certainly the reason”, and GSMArena points to “the insane memory prices” too. Notebookcheck adds a second factor: buyers drifting away from tall, narrow candybar phones towards wider screens. It reports that Oppo’s 2027 plans point to a 6.35-inch 16:9 model and a more focused Find X lineup.
The wording also varies. Some outlets say “cancelled”, while others say “suspended” or “paused”. Asked whether the decision covered this generation or the next, Digital Chat Station reportedly replied, “This generation.” Earlier rumours had the Ultra with a 200MP LOFIC main camera, a 200MP periscope, a 50MP 10x periscope, and a 100MP selfie camera. Notebookcheck and GSMArena don’t agree on when it was due: next quarter or the first half of 2027.
Oppo wouldn’t be alone in pulling back. Apple’s Tim Cook called memory costs “unsustainable” in June, and iPads and Macs face price rises first. Nothing dropped its CMF Phone 2 Pro successor for 2026 over RAM prices, in a move we covered in Nothing cancels its next CMF phone.
Oppo is selling the Find X10 lineup in the UAE at AED 6,399 for the Pro Max. Readers choosing a camera phone now can compare the options in our guide to the best camera phones in the UAE.
Other Android Ultras are also under pressure. Xiaomi’s 18 Ultra was also reportedly cancelled, with Notebookcheck and GSMArena citing soaring memory prices. Vivo is reportedly still pushing its X500 Ultra with dual 200MP sensors, but Android Authority notes a warning that the memory crunch could change plans for its global launch.
