Netflix has revealed the first logo for Narnia: The Magician’s Nephew, Greta Gerwig’s adaptation of C. S. Lewis’s Narnia origin story. The title treatment arrives ahead of the film’s global cinema release on 12 February 2027 and its Netflix debut on 2 April.
The Narnia The Magician’s Nephew logo puts “A Film by Greta Gerwig” above a large, textured Narnia wordmark, with the film’s full title beneath it. The first piece of marketing is a logo rather than a trailer, so the wardrobe can remain firmly closed for now. IGN reported the logo reveal, while Netflix’s Tudum announcement confirms the release plan and describes the film as the first adaptation of The Magician’s Nephew.

What the Narnia The Magician’s Nephew logo confirms
The logo confirms the film’s final title and Gerwig’s directorial credit. Netflix is calling the project an adaptation of the book that explains the creation of Narnia, rather than another version of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, which has been the usual starting point for screen adaptations.
The film stars David McKenna and Beatrice Campbell as Digory Kirke and Polly Plummer. The supporting cast includes Emma Mackey, Carey Mulligan, Ciarán Hinds, Kobna Holdbrook-Smith, Daniel Craig and Meryl Streep. Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt are composing the score after working with Gerwig on Barbie.
Narnia’s unusual cinema-first release
Netflix will give the film IMAX previews from 10 February 2027 before its wide global theatrical release two days later. It will then arrive on Netflix on 2 April, leaving roughly seven weeks between the cinema opening and streaming release.
That is a wider rollout than Netflix’s earlier event-style cinema runs. tbreak previously reported on the film’s wide theatrical release, including the planned IMAX previews and April streaming date. Sony Pictures Entertainment will distribute the film outside North America, according to Netflix.
The UAE’s cinema release details have not been announced yet. Local listings and IMAX showtimes should appear closer to February 2027; Netflix has confirmed the global streaming date but has not published a separate UAE schedule.
