The costumes have clearly done their homework
The leaked images show Teagan Croft and Milo Manheim wearing recognisable versions of Rapunzel and Flynn Rider’s costumes. As our sister site IGN Middle East reports, the photos were taken during production in Spain and provide the first unofficial look at the pair on set.
Croft, known for Titans, appears in Rapunzel’s familiar purple dress with a very long blonde wig. Manheim, whose credits include Disney Channel’s Zombies, was photographed wearing Flynn Rider’s blue waistcoat.
Those choices suggest the live-action film is keeping the animated characters’ visual identities intact. Set photography offers only an early production glimpse, but purple dress, impossible hair, and blue waistcoat are about as unmistakably Tangled as it gets. The horse remains innocent until photographed.
The identities and character assignments are based on set imagery and secondary reporting rather than an official Disney cast announcement. That makes this a convincing unofficial reveal rather than a studio-issued first look.
More reported cast members have appeared on set
Set reports also identify Kathryn Hahn, Diego Luna, Patrick McPherson, and Hugo McPherson among the live-action Tangled ensemble. Hahn is reportedly playing Mother Gothel, while the McPherson twins are linked to the Stabbington brothers.
Luna’s role remains undisclosed and is reportedly a character created for this adaptation. tbreak previously covered reports of Diego Luna’s mystery Tangled role, but no character details have emerged. The secrecy has naturally encouraged speculation, although the set photos themselves do not settle it.
The reported line-up puts familiar screen performers around Croft and Manheim while leaving one potentially significant addition under wraps. Hahn as Mother Gothel is particularly easy to picture, which is either inspired casting or the inevitable result of watching Agatha: All Along. Possibly both.
Spain is supplying towers, castles, and plenty of scenery
The live-action Tangled is filming in Spain with physical construction and location work supporting its fairy-tale setting. Multiple reports place production across Spanish sites, including activity connected to Álava, Girona, and the area near Bilbao.
A practical structure representing the base of Rapunzel’s tower has reportedly been built in the countryside near Bilbao. Spanish outlet HobbyConsolas reported on the Tangled sets in Spain, including the tower construction and filming at Girona Cathedral.
Girona Cathedral reportedly appears in the production as a stand-in for Corona Castle. Together with the tower build, that points to a production making substantial use of physical locations and scenery alongside whatever visual effects eventually join them.
The production was already active before this latest wave of images, so the real update is seeing the reported leads in costume. On that limited but important measure, live-action Tangled already looks like Tangled — an achievement that sounds obvious until you remember how adventurous Hollywood can become when adapting a perfectly recognisable design.
