LEGO Natural Brickstory Abu Dhabi: dates, tickets and what to expect

By Abbas Jaffar Ali2 min readAug 24, 2026

LEGO Natural Brickstory Abu Dhabi — the world-first exhibition from LEGO SHOWS — opened at the Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi on Friday 21 August. It runs until Sunday 8 November and is included with general museum admission.

The show pairs LEGO builds with the museum’s own science, working through 13.8 billion years of Earth’s story in three themed zones: Earth’s History, Wildlife and The Cosmos. Visitors build, follow trails and join workshops rather than filing past static cases, and the museum says more activities will be announced during the run.

A centrepiece is a community build of the UAE, which grows as visitors add their own bricks, per Experience Abu Dhabi. It is the first time the LEGO SHOWS format has been staged anywhere in the world, with Khaleej Times reporting the show as the museum’s world premiere.

“Play is fundamental to learning and discovery. It sparks curiosity, fuels imagination, and nurtures creativity.”

The exhibition is covered by the museum’s AED 70 adult ticket, and children under 18 enter free. UAE residents get 30% off entry until 30 September, What’s On reported. The museum sits in the Saadiyat Cultural District on Saadiyat Island, open 10am–6:30pm Monday to Thursday and 10am–8:30pm Friday to Sunday. Tickets are dated, so book the day you plan to visit through nhmad.ae.

LEGO’s longer UAE history

The UAE’s LEGO connection predates the exhibition. LEGOLAND Dubai’s Miniland has rebuilt the Dubai skyline in around 20 million bricks, and the Burj Khalifa has its own LEGO Architecture model. Natural Brickstory takes the same bricks in a different direction — towards a museum collection rather than a theme park. The museum, which opened to the public in November 2025, shares the Saadiyat Cultural District with the Zayed National Museum and Louvre Abu Dhabi. Until 8 November, LEGO Natural Brickstory Abu Dhabi sits alongside its permanent galleries, where the UAE’s own 7-million-year-old fossils are the original build.
