Fujifilm has launched the instax mini 13, a new entry-level instant camera that keeps the mini 12’s twist-the-lens operation and adds the self-timer that line was missing. It is already on sale in the UAE, with Sharaf DG listing it at AED 429 including VAT.
The body is a soft, rounded 3D shape in five translucent pastels: Dreamy Purple, Candy Pink, Frost Blue, Lagoon Green and Clay White. A metallic silver logo fronts the camera, and the sides carry a band-wrapped logo. Turn the lens to power on, turn it again for Close-Up Mode — the same two-step ritual as the mini 12.

What’s new on the instax mini 13
The dual self-timer is the new thing: 2-second and 10-second options. Two seconds covers the handheld selfie; ten seconds lets you put the camera down and get in the frame. An included Camera Angle Adjustment Accessory — a small wedge that tilts the camera up — handles the setup, so the shot is of you rather than the ceiling. Fujifilm’s mini LiPlay+ went after the same problem from the hybrid side.

Everything else carries over from the mini 12: Close-Up Mode with parallax correction, automatic exposure, a built-in selfie mirror and two AA batteries. Prints develop in about 90 seconds.
Bing Liem, president of Fujifilm’s Imaging Division in North America, on the new model:
“experimenting with instant photography – trying out new lighting, poses, or scenes (especially by using the new self-timer feature) – are all fantastic ways to express oneself artistically and be a part of your art.”
Bing Liem, president, Imaging Division, FUJIFILM North America Corporation
In plainer terms: the timer exists so the person holding the camera gets into the picture. Early reviews describe the mini 13 as a light refresh — PetaPixel calls it a simple continuation of the mini 12 — and Fujifilm has also updated the instax UP! app with AI-assisted scanning, so prints digitise cleanly regardless of background or orientation.
instax mini 13 price in the UAE
US buyers got the camera in June at $93.95. Fujifilm’s regional release, datelined Dubai, lists Gulf pricing as open — retailers have not waited. Sharaf DG has the mini 13 at AED 429 including VAT, and a new Pastel Galaxy film with a cosmic print launches alongside it. For the wider range, see our guide to the best instax cameras in the UAE.
For a first instax, the pitch is unchanged: point, shoot, and 90 seconds later you have a physical photo. The mini 13 just waits for you to be in it first.
