Hero Esports will bring humanoid robot kickboxing to Riyadh on 9 September, with ten EngineAI T800 robots and two professional Street Fighter players controlling them. CyberHero x Riyadh starts at 9:00 PM, with doors opening at 8:30 PM; the venue has not yet been announced.
Humanoid robot kickboxing arrives in Riyadh
The event is the live debut of CyberHero, Hero Esports’ new robotic sports initiative. The company says the roughly two-hour programme will combine the matches with music, lighting and a live set from an international DJ. The robots are expected to compete in a purpose-built combat arena, with other robotics brands also invited to appear.
Hero Esports said in its announcement that CyberHero will be the first in a planned series of events in major cities. Ticket prices and a ticketing link were not listed in the release or the checked event pages.
The EngineAI T800 is about 1.73 metres tall and weighs between 75 and 85 kg. It has 29 articulated joints and is designed to walk, run, punch, kick, turn and recover after a fall. EngineAI held the first event in its robot fighting league in Shenzhen on 16 July, and Hero Esports says the Riyadh robots will use an upgraded combat package.
Two Street Fighter players will drive the robots
The competitors will not be autonomous. Danny Tang, Hero Esports’ co-founder and CEO, told Arab News that two esports players will drive the robots during the 9 September event. Both players come from Street Fighter, putting a familiar sort of controller skill in a rather larger machine.

Tang also said Hero Esports is using the Riyadh launch to begin a CyberHero Saudi–China Scholar Program. The first phase is planned to take up to 30 Saudi students to three Chinese cities for visits to robotics companies and technology institutions.
The event is part of Riyadh’s growing role in esports and robotics. Tbreak has previously covered Abu Dhabi’s student robot-driving competition and the UAE’s work on edge AI and robotics. CyberHero’s Riyadh venue, ticketing details and any broadcast plans have yet to be announced.
