GTA 6 Netflix views reached 31.1 million in four days, making the game’s 27-minute extended look the most-watched title on Netflix’s chart for the week.
The special drew those views between its release on Thursday, 27 August at 3pm ET and Sunday, 30 August, the end of Netflix’s viewing window for its weekly Top 10 rankings. It ranked No. 1 on the English-language film list in 87 of the 93 countries tracked by Netflix.

GTA 6 Netflix views beat the week’s film competition
The extended look was classified as an English-language film, despite being a presentation of in-game footage rather than a conventional film or series. It finished ahead of The Whisper Man, which recorded 23.2 million views during the same period, according to Variety’s report.
Netflix’s definition of a view is total hours watched divided by a title’s runtime. That makes its figure different from YouTube’s count, where a view starts when a video begins playing. Rockstar’s YouTube upload had passed 17 million views on its own account by the time Variety published its report.
What the GTA 6 extended look shows
The footage features Jason and Lucia across cinematic and gameplay scenes set in the fictional Vice City. It was captured entirely from the PlayStation 5 version, and Rockstar has confirmed that GTA 6 will launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on 19 November.
Rockstar first gave Netflix six hours of exclusivity before uploading the extended look to YouTube and the Grand Theft Auto VI website. The release is the longest official look at the game so far, following two trailers released over the past three years.
The BBC’s breakdown of the preview notes that the footage focuses on Jason and Lucia’s relationship, the game’s Vice City setting and the criminal activities expected from the series. It did not provide new information about GTA 6 Online.
GTA 6 Netflix views now sit alongside the game’s wider promotional numbers, including almost 500 million combined YouTube views for its first two official trailers, according to the BBC. Earlier GTA 6 coverage examined the footage and leaks around the Netflix release, while GTA 6 gameplay details cover the systems shown in the wider reveal.
