The official trailer for George Michael: The Faith Tour is out. Billboard says the previously unseen 1988 concert film is due in cinemas from 6 November.
Lars Brandle, writing for Billboard on 2 September 2026, says the restored film documents Michael on the European leg of the Faith Tour at the Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy. The trade also published the official poster.
George Michael: The Faith Tour: the 1988 Paris tapes
Andy Morahan and David Austin direct. Billboard says the footage was restored and remastered from a 14-camera shoot on 35mm film across two nights, and that a short film by Mary McCartney opens the feature with newly discovered audio and imagery from 1986 to 1988. The official trailer names that short Finding Faith.
The 100-second clip includes “Careless Whisper”, “Father Figure” and “Faith”. In it, Michael says: “I guess what ‘Faith’ meant to me was, life to me was still going to deliver.”
The film was announced in March. Billboard places the Paris shoot two years after Wham! split, and soon after the release of Michael’s solo debut Faith. George Michael Entertainment and Mercury Studios produced it. Variety reported in July that Universal Pictures Content Group took international theatrical rights and Bleecker Street’s Crosswalk took North America. Billboard records the same split.
Cinema dates, the live album, and UAE listings
Attitude, covering the trailer on 1 September, says UK and Irish cinemas from 6 November, with Universal Pictures distributing there, and a US release on 11 December. The official trailer copy on YouTube puts international dates from 4 November and the United States and Canada on 11 December. Australian cinema sites including Flicks already list 6 November.
tbreak has not found a VOX Cinemas, Novo Cinemas or Reel Cinemas listing in the UAE. UAE showtimes are unconfirmed.
An 18-track live album, also titled The Faith Tour, will be released globally through Sony Music, Billboard says, with previously unreleased performances from the world tour. The official trailer page says the album can be pre-ordered from 2 September. Tickets for the film are listed as on sale soon.
Faith, released in 1987, won the Grammy for album of the year and produced four Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 singles: “Faith”, “Father Figure”, “One More Try” and “Monkey”. Billboard notes that Michael remains the only British male solo artist to land four Hot 100 chart-toppers from a single album. He died on Christmas Day 2016, aged 53.
