Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora Dated

Avatar movie director James Cameron made a quick cameo during the Ubisoft Forward 2023 showcase to re-introduce Ubisoft’s upcoming Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, a Far Cry-like open-world RPG. The first-person adventure sees players control a Na’vi trained by the RDA to fight against her own people, but she eventually reconnects with her heritage and chooses to protect them instead (sounds familiar, doesn’t it?). The game will release on December 7, 2023, for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage Goes “Back to the Roots”

“Back to the roots” is Ubisoft’s mantra for the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Mirage. In the gameplay demo, the protagonist, Basim, takes down foes using classic Assassin’s Creed tools of stealth and parkour. The game seems reminiscent of the original Assassin’s Creed games instead of the sprawling open-world RPGs the series eventually pivoted towards. The game launches on October 12 for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
Become the Assassin in Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR

Assassin’s Creed Nexus is the franchise’s first step into VR and will feature a single-player campaign featuring protagonists from previous Assassin’s Creed games: Assassin’s Creed 2’s Ezio, Odyssey’s Kassandra, and Assassin’s Creed 3’s Conor. The game is set to launch exclusively for Meta Quest 2. However, it does not have a release date yet.

The game is set to enter a public testing phase later this month; there is no word on an official release date.
Ubisoft’s Star Wars Outlaws Gameplay

Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment (developers behind The Divison series) showcased what they are calling the first open-world Star Wars game (Jedi Survivor be like, “Am I a joke to you?”). Star Wars Outlaws’ gameplay demo showed off the combat and some of the areas of the game’s open world and introduced us to the main protagonist Kay Vess and her cute adorable little companion Nix. No release date on this one yet, but it is scheduled to release sometime next year.
Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown Gameplay Revealed

Ubisoft unveiled more of its upcoming 2D sidescrolling title, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown. The game features a semi-open world and a Metroidvania-like layout with many paths to take. The character can be upgraded with new powers and moves to learn along the game. The game is set to launch on Jan 18, 2024, for PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch platforms.
Adi Shankar’s Captain Laserhawk Anime

Adi Shankar, the creator behind the popular Castlevania TV series, came up on stage to present Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix, a stylized, easter-egg-filled new anime that is based on the Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon expansion but features various characters from Ubisoft’s vast IPs. It will release on Netflix sometime later this year.

Skull and Bones Closed Beta in August

The much-delayed Skull and Bones is still alive and kicking, with Ubisoft announcing a closed beta for August. It was presented with a live musical performance at the Ubisoft Forward 2023 showcase, which is really cool, to be honest. The closed beta for the game will run from August 25 to August 28. Interested players can register for it from the game’s official website.
