The Game Awards, an annual show hosted and organized by industry veteran Geoff Keighley, has announced its nominations for this year, with Remedy’s Alan Wake 2 and Larian’s Baldur’s Gate 3 leading the pack with eight nominations each.

The survival horror-thriller Alan Wake 2 is nominated for Game of the Year, Best Game Direction, Best Narrative, Best Art Direction, Best Score and Music, Best Sound Design, Best Performance, and Best Action/Adventure Game.

Larian’s critically and commercially celebrated D&D RPG, Baldur’s Gate 3, has been nominated for Game of the Year, Best Game Direction, Best Narrative, Best Score and Music, Best Performance, Best Community Support, Best RPG, and Best Multiplayer.

Meanwhile, Insomniac’s Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 have received seven nominations, with The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Super Mario Bros. Wonder, and Starfield sharing five nominations each.

The Game Awards 2023 will take place on December 7 (or 4.30am, December 8 in the UAE). The show will feature the award ceremony, world premieres, exclusive gameplay reveals, and maybe – just maybe – the first look at Grand Theft Auto 6.
