During its CES 2024 presentation, NVIDIA announced ‘Super’ versions of three of popular RTX 40-series cards, namely the RTX 4080 Super, RTX 4070 Ti Super, and RTX 4070 Super.

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 Super, which carries an MSRP of $999, and the RTX 4070, which will cost $599, will receive a Founder’s Edition, while the RTX 4070 Ti, with an MSRP of $799 will only be available through third-party partners.

RTX 4080 Super is releasing on 31st January 2024

The RTX 4080 Super is pegged twice as fast as the last-gen RTX 3080 Ti and maybe only around 2% faster than the standard RTX 4080 despite several boosts in specifications. However, the biggest advantage for the new buyers is that they will receive a slightly faster card at a much cheaper price point ($799 vs $1199), as well as a less power-hungry one (320W TGP vs 450 TGP)

The story is similar with the RTX 4070 Ti Super, which features better Shader Cores, RT Cores and Tensor Cores specifications over the standard RTX 4070 Ti, but doesn’t seem to provide a faster performance. The price remains the same at $799, and so does the TGP (285W), but the Super version provides slightly more RAM (16GB vs. 12GB). Compared to the last-gen equivalent, the RTX 3070 Ti, it is significantly faster, however. the RTX 4070 Ti will be available on January 24th.

For RTX 4070 Super, NVIDIA claims it will be faster than RTX 3090 – with the help of DLSS 3, of course. Compared to the standard version, there is no difference in the price or the available RAM, although it will require slightly more TGP at 220W (vs 200W) thanks to its slightly beefier specifications. The Nvidia RTX 4070 Super availability is set for January 17th.
