Hideo Kojima, the influential video game developer behind the Metal Gear Solid series and Death Stranding, has announced that his documentary, Hideo Kojima: Connecting Words, will premiere on Disney+ in Spring 2024.

The Glen Milner documentary premiered at New York’s Tribeca Film Festival in June 2023.
According to the official website, Hideo Kojima: Connecting Worlds will explore the potential of video games as an art form as it take you through the creative process behind Kojima’s creations. “Widely regarded as the first auteur of video games, this visually captivating documentary gives a rare insight into Hideo Kojima’s creative process as he launches his own independent studio.”
The documentary also features contributions from film and television artists, including Guillermo del Toro, Nicholas Winding Refn, Grimes, George Miller, Norman Reedus, Woodkid, Chvrches and many others.
Besides the documentary, Hideo Kojima is busy prepping for the PS5-exclusive Death Stranding 2, which will be released sometime next year. During The Game Awards 2023 yesterday, the developer announced OD (Overdose), an upcoming horror game created in partnership with Xbox Game Studios and the Oscar-winning filmmaker Jordan Peele.
