January was a surprising month for game releases, with several big releases hitting their mark and starting off the year with a bang. Ubisoft’s Metroidvania, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, came out to bat first and was quickly lapped up by critics and audiences alike for its refined platforming, smooth combat and many small innovations in the genre.

But its limelight was shortlived as Palworld stormed into the scene. The ‘Pokemon with Guns’ survival game shook up the entire industry by selling 8m copies in just six days and still continues its reign with the most concurrent players on Steam. And to close out the month, Bandai Namco’s Tekken 8 brawled into the scene, and judging from the reviews, it seems the game is poised to not only be the best Tekken game ever released but maybe one of the finest fighting games ever.

February seems like a stellar month, too, with several anticipated games to look forward to. From Helldivers 2, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, and the long-in-the-making Skull and Bones, there are a lot of games to mark your calendar for.
