The GAC GS7 PHEV UAE launch brings a 501 hp plug-in hybrid SUV to local showrooms for AED 159,900, with a claimed combined range of up to 1,020 km. The five-seat model is being sold through Gargash GAC Motor showrooms in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Ras Al Khaimah.
Gargash Motors unveiled the GAC GS7 PHEV at its Deira showroom. Gulf News reports that more than 50 units had been sold before the official launch, while the first four UAE customers received their vehicles at the event. The local distributor says customers can book test drives across its UAE network.
GAC GS7 PHEV UAE launch brings 501 hp
The SUV uses GAC’s third-generation plug-in hybrid system, with a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine and a 36.3 kWh Magazine LFP battery. Its combined system output is 501 hp, with a claimed 0–100 km/h time of 5.8 seconds and a top speed of 185 km/h.
The 1,020 km figure comes from the CLTC testing cycle and combines the battery and petrol engine. The company quotes 6.5 litres per 100 km under WLTC testing once the battery is depleted, with a 50-litre fuel tank. Real-world range will vary with speed, traffic, temperature, terrain and charging.
Mark Zhang, vice president, Middle East and general manager of GAC Middle East, said the model is intended to combine electric driving for daily use with a petrol engine for longer trips. He described the GS7 PHEV as a step in the company’s electrified portfolio for the region in comments reported by Gulf News.

The GS7 PHEV has a 27-inch head-up display, a 15.6-inch central screen, an 8.88-inch digital instrument display and a 22-speaker, 1,640-watt audio system. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, alongside remote vehicle functions through the GAC mobile app.
The cabin has Nappa leather seats, four-seat ventilation and massage functions, a panoramic sunroof and a second-row backrest that reclines to 137 degrees. Safety equipment includes 10 airbags, a 360-degree camera, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assistance, automatic emergency braking and automatic parking assistance.
