Marvel and Sony have dropped what is being described as the final trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and if you were hoping the last big marketing push would blow the doors off the film’s remaining secrets, prepare to manage your expectations. The first half functions as a quick-fire recap for anyone who has been checked out of the MCU: a young-looking Tom Holland meets best mate Ned, dates MJ, and then both are made to forget he exists — the fallout from Spider-Man: No Way Home. It is the trailer equivalent of a “previously on,” and it does the job.
What is actually new in the final trailer?
The genuinely fresh material amounts to a handful of shots. There is a longer look at Bruce Banner fully Hulked out, roaring “No Banner! Only Hulk!” — footage that leans into the character’s presence after Mark Ruffalo’s involvement was already confirmed. There is also a new quip from Spider-Man mid-fight (“Could we do this one at a time, please?!”) as he takes on a cluster of ninja monks, and a nicely timed comedic beat where Ned clocks that Spider-Man is in the building just as the hero is standing right in front of him.
That is broadly it on the new-footage front. Coverage of the earlier trailer wave, including our own look at the Hulk footage and Sadie Sink’s obscured appearance, already flagged much of what this final cut circles back to. The framing is deliberate: with the film this close, the campaign appears to have shown everything it is willing to show.
Why is Sadie Sink still a mystery?
Sadie Sink’s character remains officially undisclosed, and that is by design. Director Destin Daniel Cretton said this week that he is keeping her identity secret until fans see the film for a “very real reason” that he believes audiences won’t “get mad at,” a stance our sister site IGN Middle East reported on in detail. Sink is almost entirely absent from the trailer — she appears only in a re-used shot where she is completely obscured beneath a coat and hood.
The secrecy has, predictably, done nothing to dampen the guessing. Online, a large chunk of the fanbase is convinced the Stranger Things alum has been cast as X-Men figure Jean Grey. Marvel and Sony have confirmed no such thing, so treat that as the loudest theory in the room rather than fact. The other open questions the film is still sitting on: who the real villain is, whether Ned and MJ get their memories back, and where the movie leaves Peter ahead of Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.
When does Spider-Man: Brand New Day release in the UAE?
Spider-Man: Brand New Day opens in UAE cinemas on 31 July 2026, in line with its global theatrical date. Directed by Cretton and set four years after Spider-Man: No Way Home, the film reunites Holland with Zendaya and Jacob Batalon and brings in Ruffalo’s Hulk, Jon Bernthal’s Punisher, Michael Mando’s Scorpion, and Sink in her still-unnamed role.
If the thin new footage disappoints, there is a fairer read: with the movie a fortnight out and so much still under wraps, leaving the remaining answers for the cinema is not the worst call a marketing team has ever made. For anyone who last saw Peter on the big screen in No Way Home, this one picks up with the whole world — Ned and MJ included — having forgotten he ever existed.
